My garden is just barely waking up, but it's so full of sounds.
I love Spring! I can't wait to get my hands dirty

Planted some more broccoli, kale, and did a bit of watering today. My tomato starts are looking diesel, probably starting peppers this coming weekend. Lots of onions randomly coming up, and my strawberries looked happy. I also tried rose pruning for the first time today. Old neglected things were just laying around the property.

The last of our clematis arrived from Taylors today.

It's too wet to plant them out yet. I might do it tomorrow as it's warming up now.

We bought three of these from T&M a few years ago.

Each year, they tend to die off earlier than expected with the dreaded clematis wilt. So I cut them right down but leave a bit of the dead stalk showing to remind me where they were.

I checked today and all's well with the three. Each is showing this sort of growth.

It always pay to leave well alone when you might think something is dead.

I mowed, mostly in a vain attempt to keep the leaves from choking my lawn.

Also tried my have at grafting. I'll either have killed off the sour orange or created a citrus cocktail (orange, key lime and eureka lemon), time will tell.

Potted a key lime tree and put down some mulch in my other pots(finally).

More progress today, finally got my veggies all planted. I cheated this year and got the largest starter plants I could find, since I'm a little late. Transplanted then to larger containers, let's call this an experiment. I had these left over from transporting huge banana corms from my other house. Weren't good for much else since they have holes in them now. I was going to throw them out and thought they would make a good container for tomatoes and peppers.

I have early girl, Roma and a"container" tomato; yellow and green bell peppers and jalapenos s well as sweet potato. I have some Cayenne seeds I am starting, but they are the only seedlings I'm doing this year.

Also treated my orange with neem oil as I noticed some little webs. May just be spiders, but I'm not taking chances.

It’s cool and rainy again. Ah, spring, it’s finally here. Random weather, this is day three or four of the long slow rain we needed so much. I’ve got more daffodils blooming, and several of the clusters I need to get moved yet are budded to bloom soon. The Johnson grass is growing by leaps and bounds already. I need to knock it down and get started on the solerizing that soil, just giving and bulbs that may still be trying to pop up a chance.

Nice pics!! I love gardening and I grow fruits and vegetables in my garden. I'm not a very professional gardener though I keep researching on a new way of gardening and this forum is perfect for me. I'm new here and I would love to share my experience with the members here.

I took the time to walk the garden today, that’s it. More cool almost rainy damp weather, but I landed a new job. The job I had was very customer driven, we only hauled stuff if we had a job, and paid a percentage of the profit. But, while this job is part time, it’ll be a steady part time, compared to the feast or famin the other job was.

I removed the wires I'd been using to pull this big rhodo to the left as it was previously crowding the one to the right of it. Six months has encouraged it to assume this shape.

Same with this one in front of the camelia, which was leaning too far over the lawn.

I also removed the plastic clothes line with which I tied this sorbus to a concrete fence post. It's corrected its lean to the left and forwards, so as good as I can expect.

I dug up a old lavender by the front door and replaced it with a small blackcurrant plant. Planted a lavender in a better place where it will get more sun.

The problem with lavender is that it can take over.

We had a couple in the narrow bed in front of our pool.

But they got too big so I dug them out and replaced them with hebes.

I was a bit reluctant to throw the lavender out so they got relegated to a couple of plastic tubs either side of the green bin.

After a respectable length of time, they ended up in it.
