Watered, trimmed up some flowers, seen my Potatoes and Lettuce is coming up. Put a Black Barrel in filled it with water to help heat. My Basil and Peppermint is sprouting.

And once again Shredded Leaves.

Not much but still busy.

Did little work in the Greenhouse.

Was going to sherd Leaves but it was just too cold.

Made up two Worm Bins.

Waited on a ride to the Feed Store. Supposed to be here at noon finally got here at 4.

Had a guy there not being nice. They called and apologized. But they gave me one bag too many on Feed.

Then get home had a Squirrel in my trap,so had to clean it and put cleanings in the garden.

Two dry days in a row, but the ground is still pretty wet.
I have a bunch of buckets I grew tomatoes and cucumbers in last year. Took out the top few inches from six buckets and spiced them up a bit with some manure, wood ash, burnt clay and bonemeal, plus a bit of compost to make up for shrinkage, then dug my oldest two strawberry plants and split them up. Got 10 cuttings, planted five buckets with one each, and one with the two smallest plants, and planted out three in the garden.
Added a lot of compost and burnt clay to an area with a lot of clay in it still and hoed it into the top layer, but too wet to do much, hoed around my other strawberries.

Not even in the garden today. It's cold and the wind is gusting 60-65 mph. Not that I would be doing much if anything anyway. Last thing was after Christmas. I set up the BirdBuddy feeder I bought my wife for Christmas. Really cool! Has an HD camera built in and a solar cell roof to charge it. It's WiFi enabled and automatically takes photos and videos of the visitors and you can live stream too. The close ups are incredible. Has AI bird recognition and tells you what they are. And you can share with people all over the world. She loves it. Not cheap, but really cool and very well designed and made. You can keep tabs on it from anywhere you have an internet connection with your phone - which incidentally also allows her to keep tabs on the back of the house, since it's moutned on the rear fence, even though it was not designed for that.

That sounds like a really cool bird feeder, is it self filling? Ours shuts down when there is too much weight on it, which can make filling it a bit of a pain, but stops the squirrels robbing from it.
Well cold here too, went for a walk round the lake at Ashburnham place with the missus instead of gardening. Scarf and gloves and a brisk pace and the hands and feet don't get numb like they do gardening, came home and ate crumpets, The garden isn't going anywhere.

Watered and Shredded Leaves.

Really wanted to Shred more but got a ride to town to get gas. Wind picked way up so I quit.

Received couple orders. Got me a little Seeder.

I have to remember to file receipts other than throwing them in the trash.

The garden is still there, I saw it out of the window. Best left to itself when it's this cold.

We are about to enjoy this year's polar vortex early next week. 15 deg. F here for two nights and three below freezing starting next Monday.

Mild fall/winter days disappear with a resounding crash for a few days....75 deg. F here today. Dug the last of my fall potato crop in shorts.

Isn't Nature amazing?

Today was actually a pretty chill day out in the garden for me. Despite it still being winter, I sometimes can't resist the urge to steal some moments outside.
So this morning, bundled up in my comfiest jacket, I actually braved the chill to have my coffee on this cozy little rattan corner sofa set that I picked up last summer. It's one of my favourite spots to just sit and decompress.
I also did a bit of a walk-around, checking on the sleeping plants and plotting in my head what I'm going to do once spring rolls in. It's about time to start planning the layout for this year's planting. I also brushed off some snow from the branches of my shrubs – they tend to get a bit heavy-laden, and I don't want them to snap.

Had a snow storm roll through. Everytime it snows I walk around the perimeter. I would say the perimeter is about 600 feet. Wow never realized that is almost an 1/8 mile. I plan to do a layout so I can catalog all my trees. I cant seem to remember them all so a map would be nice for future reference. Remove the snow from the deer netting so it doesnt sag. Had to repair a tear. This happens once in a while. I think an animal tries to climb it and it tears. If deer get in they eat all the flower buds on almost all the trees. I have to get used to taking walks. Pretty relaxing as long as the snow is soft. Once frozen Its no fun.
