We are raining - properly raining here! Hope all my butts are filled up. Then it's going to be sunny and warm 14c. Bliss! Can't hear the wind. Washing machine is churning.

Has it been snowing for days, @johnny canoe ?

@alp I better get my snow boots out.:eek::eek:
I do have a pair but, they haven't been used for 5 years. That's how much snow that we've had.

Hi,

Be on red alert for blizzards; I've just braved the high wind and the cold to wash the Yeti and leather it dry; I was as usual buffeted by Gale and immediately I dried the last little bit of bodywork Blackie then joined in; I didn't even have the chance to see the car dry because it's soaking wet again but at least a clean soaking wet. I do the supermarket shopping Monday's and Friday's first thing as soon as the stores open; we've been frost free all week but of course it's going to be frosty tomorrow morning. I could do the shopping this afternoon but then I would need a shoehorn to park the car with high risk of the car being damaged; shopping first thing though there is plenty of parking but how strange I can park in an empty car park with spaces all around but when I return to the car there is a car parked each side whilst the rest of the car park still has lots of empty spaces; the Yeti must be a very powerful magnet?

Six Viburnum are due to arrive today so I can have fun up the mountain planting them; they are potted so it shouldn't be a big job assuming I can be allowed to stand up; I'd also like to gather all the leaves but they won't stand still? GRRRRRRRRRR.

WOW alp; 14c are you sitting in front of a nice roaring fire? :D(y)

Kind regards, Colin.

@Colin why bother washing the car, with the weather that you have?.:) Our car doesn't get a wash. When it gets a service, they wash it.:)
We've still got the gales, should be better tomorrow, but colder. I've got a rose to transplant.where i put it, it hasn't got enough room, the other plants get in the way. But where i want to plant it, the soil is clay. So I've got to change it from another part of the garden.

Hi,

Thanks for asking Logan. I'm just stubborn and fed up of Gale and Blackie dictating what I can and cannot do; I wash the car once a week unless I can't see it for snow.(y)

The car is our second biggest expenditure and we usually trade it in at three years old for another new car; I treat it like I treat all my tools and machinery keeping it clean and in good order. In 1986 Bron and I were running a VW Beetle; I spent lots of time on this repairing it and spending money on parts; after running it for a year out of curiosity I added up the cost of the parts; Bron and I then immediately traded this Beetle in against a new Citroen 2CV taking the 2CV on finance which worked out identical to the cost of the parts for the Beetle but now we could enjoy our time together in a small car under warranty that wasn't thirsty for fuel; we've been running new cars since so I can now use my time better. A 2CV is a remarkable car and amazing as to what it can carry; the only time to be caught speeding in a 2CV would be if it went over a cliff? We owned two of these.

Our Yeti is being phased out of production which to us is very disappointing because we love our Yeti; ours is the SE L 2.0L diesel in Black Magic Pearl Effect with full leather etc; we bought it in July 2016; we would have definitely traded it in at three years old for another Yeti but now parting with it is going to be a tough decision; we might end up keeping it because it suits us perfectly :):):).

Good luck with moving your Rose Logan; if you lived here given the wind and rain it might even move itself?

Kind regards, Colin.

@Colin that looks like a good car. As I've said,i don't know much about cars and makes. So when you kept saying Yeti, i thought that it was a nickname for your car.;)
When hubby used to work, he'd change the car every 2 years. But now can't afford it. We have and had Volvo estate cars. We have a V50, for 13 years now.Had to have a few things replaced and have to have a new one soon. But not a new new. But the Volvo service place have moved from here, that's Redditch to Birmingham. But for the services they still pick the car up and bring it back. But the first time the man lost his way. Took half the day to get here. Then they asked if they could bring it back the day after. They could have given us a car, but it takes a lot of time.
I haven't done that rose yet, I'm working myself up to do it. Thinking how to go about it.
