Started snowing heavily yesterday afternoon and hasn't stopped yet. I get to use my snow blower this morning! I'm sooo excited, I want to go outside now and use it but it's not 6am yet. lol
Made it down to the river and fed birds early yesterday before the snow.
Mr. and Mrs. Woodpecker in a couple short videos I took yesterday.

Hi,

Outside it's a scorching 7C today but inside my workshop it's paradise. :):):)

Kind regards, Colin.

What have you done to warm up your workshop, Colin? Well done for having a paradise!

Britain faces the COLDEST winter for eight years - as torrential downpours threaten flood chaos across the south of England today
  • Yellow warnings are in place for thunderous rain, hail and flooding on the south coast as snow falls in north
  • The cold snap this week has already seen parts of the UK blanketed in inches of snow, with more to come
  • Temperatures have plummeted in Britain with -5C being recorded in Inverness and -6.7C in Oxfordshire
  • Government officials have warned of a 'severe winter' and urged families to look after elderly neighbours

We have had no rain so far. Just dank and damp and dismal!

Hi,

Thanks for asking alp.:) I have my old trusty 2kW fan heater for warmth in the workshop; the workshop is actually the garage which I converted; I added rubber strips to the bottom of the doors to keep Gale out; the central heating boiler is also in the workshop; on really cold days I wear my "site" coat but once I start pottering around I soon warm up shut away from the outside world and its problems.

I made new tool handles having generously been given two metal spinning tool blades and finished them this morning. I love making things; 24" long tool handles new cost around £34 each; these are 30" long and the ten lengths of pitch pine I bought cost £70 so bespoke handles for £7 each; smile on my face. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

I hesitate to post our weather for today, considering what most of the planet is going through. We are in the 60's, with sunshine and a light breeze. I cleaned out more of the tomato/pepper patch, looked at the lettuce to see of more needed picking, and watched the birds on the feeders and in the trees.
If you are envious, check back in July and August when we are hot, hot, and dry!

So glad that you have lovely weather and still have vegs to pick. We still have some toms and that's all. Ah, no! there are some anorexic celery. I eat one celery stem a day for my arthritis.

Two cups of coffee at 1pm and now I am still awake! Evolution favours the male and they are always better looking, even in the case of woodpecker! When can we enjoy your action man video, John? How many inches of snow have you got today?
