Met Office warns of 'danger to life' with 80mph gales, heavy rain and flooding as Storm Diana sweeps in from the Azores tomorrow
  • An Atlantic weather front will come in from the west bringing winds of up to 60mph to the UK on Tuesday
  • That will combine with arrival of Storm Diana from Portugal on Wednesday with more cold, wind and rain
  • In response, the Met Office issued several severe weather warnings across Wales, England and Scotland
  • Temperatures will be milder than this week but huge gusts from the west will make it feel nearly freezing

Hi,

Thanks alp; Diana is with us as I type; I've just returned from our local tip and what an horrible afternoon it is; Blackie is ere in force putting plenty of rain down and the roads near the tip are filthy with mud; looks like another car washing session assuming I can find the car in the dark this time of the year?

Same weather here Logan and at 3.5C hardly sun tan ointment weather.

KInd regards, Colin.

I share your sentiments @Colin , it is a 3.5C forcast for this evening. For every 10f we drop headed into winter, the walk around that I take the next morning shows me another group of plants that just could not take the temperature and decided to retire for the winter season.

Hi,

I wandered up the rear garden a few days ago DirtMechanic and was pleasantly surprised to see two crocus bursting into life; I've planted hundreds of bulbs so hopefully these two are scouts popping their head up to have a look at the weather? :)

8C to 14C here today Logan but as you rightly say it's an heat wave.(y)

I'm pleased my pet cloud Blackie has honoured you with a visit alp; do you fancy adopting him full time with my best wishes? :)

I swept up another load of oak leaves from our patio and paths this morning first thing made difficult due to Blackie giving everything a good soaking. :(

Kind regards, Colin.

Rain I don't know, but winds no! Thank you very much.

Your garden is going to fabulous when the bulbs come up. Can't wait to see them. Do upload the 2 that you have. I really like those rare glimpses of beauty in dire dank damp days!

Hi,

It's no better here alp; the wind has got up so Gale is doing her thing; it's been a wet black hole all day so things are back to normal. I'm highly surprised the army wasn't called out because we've actually had a summer this year which is extremely rare.

I still can't get any peace to spend time in the workshop; yesterday yet another guy at our door wanting to flog us yellow dusters for £5 similar to the ones bought in Poundland for £1? I'm absolutely fed up of justifying why we live here to such strangers who refuse to take a polite no for an answer. This afternoon Bron informed me the tumble drier had died so I've just repaired it; replacing the capacitor takes less than a minute but the job took at least 15 minutes due to all the screws securing the back panel and struggling to gain access to the capacitor; I've got around 200 of the capacitors to hand in readiness but there's no let up with silly interruptions. We've waited in two days to take delivery of a new office chair despatched next day delivery and so another bit of hassle to look forward to tomorrow before even getting out of bed. Will I reach the workshop in peace tomorrow?

Kind regards, Colin.

No rain at the mo! Can't remember which is a drier day, today or tomorrow.

95% of rain now, but not a drop!

I have two external doors and I never open my door to whoever knocks. I peep through the window and and open one of my windows and would shake my head. Perhaps, one day I could pretend that I don't understand English! Nobody is going to come into my house.

I would rather talk to plants than people knocking at my door.
