Hi,

WOW a high of 12C forecast for today; warmer than many days mid summer last year.

Just playing the same old cracked record over and over again because we are permanently under Blackie and pestered by his sister Gale as seen here; today and tomorrow and the rest of 2018 nothing changes;

Yorkshire and Humber
Forecast Summary
  • Today
A mild and increasingly windy day is expected. However outbreaks of rain and drizzle, already across western parts, will continue to spread east during the morning. Some brighter spells, but also occasional showers will then follow later in the day.

  • Tonight
Any lingering showers will soon ease, with clear spells likely before midnight. However rain and strengthening winds then spread east, turning squally for a time around dawn, with gales likely.

Yorkshire and Humber
Forecast Summary
  • Wednesday
Gales possible at first, with the squally band of heavy rain soon clearing to give some sunny intervals. However scattered blustery showers will then follow, with strong gusty winds continuing.
Kind regards, Colin.

Last night was very exciting!! Driving home from work, random drops of rain on the windshield. Got home, watching TV, I thought I saw a flicker of light. Then another flicker. Five minutes later, there was THUNDER!! There was thunder and thunder, and THUNDER!! All the thunders - grumbling thunder and rumbling thunder and far away thunder and great big BOOMS of thunder!! I thought all Hell was breaking loose.  :cautious:

Then the wind and rain came in. Wind whistling between my house and the neighbor's. Wind shaking the house and making the whole upstairs shake and creak. Rain pelting the windows. I actually could hear it hitting the roof of the second floor, and I was downstairs.

Then the rain turned nasty. It sounded like someone throwing tiny rocks at my windows. I turned on the local radar channel. Hail, it was pea-sized pieces of hail slamming into my windows.

So I got it wrong. It was all hail breaking loose.

I guess you always won prizes for your essay writing, @MaryMary !(y):D

We talked to a diy store employee who told us that she was so scared because of the winds that she had to go to her mum's. She lived at 11th floor, which is nothing compared with the much taller skyrises in the world. But the swaying of the building scared her stiff.

I had 30 minutes' of sunshine. I should have hand-pollinated my plants. Instead, I took pics. Very naughty of me.

I don't know how warm we were. Before I knew I was down to my short-sleeve top. Now there is a bit of wind, but my incinerator has gone on strike.

We had snow overnight and this morning. It was the wet stuff so it stuck to all the trees, which always looks great. Here's a photo taken in the exact same location as my previous photo from last Friday.

Before the snow overnight, we had all the previous snow melt over the past few days so the stream in the woods was actually flowing again. It typically only flows in Spring or occasionally after heavy rain.

We now have WHOOOOOOSY GALES! Opened windows earlier because of foul air. When the whoooosh started, had to close the windows a bit. Now, it sounds like a horror movie.. The rain band won't be here not until 2 hours' time.. Crumbs!

The heavy rain has past and now just rain. I wish i got a pic of a pigeon lifting his wings up one at a time to have a shower from the very heavy rain.

Hi,

Just a normal day here; all during last night the bungalow was buffeted by my two constant companions Blackie and Gale and I think Gale is finally running out of puff but Blackie is enjoying spoiling my day as usual; everything outside is soaking wet.

Just walking a few yards to our wheelie bin means putting on a hat and heavy coat whilst suffering yet another soaking. I wonder if the six Viburnum plants will survive because they have been under water ever since they arrived; I made the stand to secure them against Gale?
