We didn't have much sleet in Greater London, but we went east today and it was like a horror movie, very poor visibility and very sleety cutting at the front wind screen at nearly 90 degrees. Outside was like 1c when we were home. I suddenly saw some 8 small hellebores popping up to say hello. Bet they thought it was warm because of the tumble drying. I planted them out. Then realised the terrible shock they might have to endure, picked them out in they came. All potted up in the lean to now.

  • It was supposed to depart the next day for its home port in Jacksonville, Florida
  • However, the ship got trapped in ice in the St Lawrence Seaway in Montreal
  • A sustained blast of Arctic air caused ice to form faster than normal in the area
  • The ship will have to wait until the spring thaw and is expected to leave in March

It's pouring down here. My garden is a dangerous slippery slope and bald of grass.

And now, the country is plunged into haplessness again due to snow melting

It's melting Monday! Dozens of flood alerts across Britain as heavy rain is set to clear away is standing snow with temperatures soaring from below freezing to highs of 15C in just one day
  • Temperatures could soar as high as 15C in parts of eastern Wales and West Midlands as polar air passes
  • Mercury will be higher than in Athens, Greece, causing yesterday's snow to melt to sludge and ice
  • Environment agency has issued eight flood warnings in Cambridge, Hereford, Somerset and Chew Valley
  • Mild conditions come after the weekend saw the coldest night on record in the UK since February 2016

Hi,

Double figures here; 6.5C. :D

Blackie must be sulking because he's only putting down drizzle so far today and his sister Gale must have run out of puff. I'm considering painting a big mural of a sunny landscape on the inside of our front room windows. :)

The only gardening I'll be doing today Logan is to look at it because it's soaking wet as usual; Bron commented a couple of days ago our patio had almost dried which is rare but it's now back to normal being wet.

I'm about to take Bron up to our local garden centre where she hopes to buy crafting materials; it's a waste of time buying plants or seeds. :(

Kind regards, Colin.

We were supposed to have a few hours of sunshine this afternoon. I hope this pic is a mistake.

Morning all, cloudy temp. 9-11
Sunrise 8.02. Sunset 16.38

We did have light rain earlier but it should clear up.
Yesterday we had some sunshine but still a bit cold. But it was alright in the back garden. When i went up the road it was colder, but it's going up hill.

Make the most of tomorrow as the country will be cold again after that. We are very dark and overcast here.
