Goooood morning: There is a feathery drizzle in the air - mind you it doesn't touch the ground, but enough to put me off hanging my clothes outside to dry. Overcast and miserable, but warmer than yesterday. Have a good day, everyone on the forum!

@alp, whenever you see a small image like that - hover your cursor over it and click it. It'll expand. :) Maybe not as much as you want, but enough to look at.

@MaryMary Thank you for the tip. Need to experiment on it. How long have you been on this site? Every single forum needs someone like you! ;):)

@MaryMary What a great tip! It's actually much bigger than the full image and @Upsy Daisy 's photo comes up beautiful. The dark blue is so deep, a shade sexier than my blue! Wow, fantastic! Why isn't there a thumb up emoji? :D;)

I don't want to copy a thumb up emoji from the internet. Last time I copied a heart, the whole post was filled with random letters :eek:and my heart nearly stopped!

@Upsy Daisy Not even feathery rain after I spread everything out in the lean-to. Apparently, not to expect sun until 2pm. How much water have you got left. I am thinking of wrapping up plastic boxes with clear film to catch the condensation the following morning! Do I sound desperate enough to reflect the dire situation? Haha!

@Verdun I wish I could learn 10 Latin names from you a day.
Leonotis leonurus is Lion's ear and it's a good name as it LEON... LEON.. See I am not ENTIRELY ignorant, thought nearly. My cosmos are still under trays as the night temperature here in Essex has been like 6c.. I can see the stems are sturdier than when I planted them, not still the same height!

What a lovely day waiting for you, Verdun. To everyone - a lovely and happy Sunday.

I agree with you @Upsy Daisy The temperature predicted nighttime will be 6C on Tuesday. DON'T even tempt fate. The dry and the cold are not good for anything, let along seedlings raised with TLC! What a terrible growing or non-growing time for us.

Sorry for delay in replying, having problems with my tablet and internet this morning.:(

We have about half a butt of water left maybe.:(
I save my hair colour application bottles and use them to water pots and seedlings as you can direct the water more precisely at the base and roots of each plant..... that's my water saving tip of the day!:D:D

@alp, I can't bear the thought of my little seedlings having to face and fend for themselves in the flower beds. It is soooooooo very dry out there, they wouldn't last a day let alone a night!!:(:(

Yes, I know. I had raised one CANNA from one bag of seeds. I thought they would do better outside in a bigger pot by the wall. They were ravaged by slugs and snails and the squirrels wanted to use the big pots as caches. In the end, only one bigger one survives. And today, I saw something moving in my hanging basket and guess what it is - another lovely squirrel - I used the word lovely sarcastically!

@Upsy Daisy Have you been to Waddesdon Manor .. They open 11am and I agree with him, too gloomy to make the trip and too early to see flowers. Where's your next biggest gardening centre? Ooops .. the prospect might be gloomier for your OH now.. How can you go there and not spend money. I saw swarms of people in all the diy gcs last week.. Can you blame them. The weather was glorious!

GC...with hubs:eek::eek: no way! He would definitely find that a very gloomy and expensive prospect :D.

We are very fortunate to have quite a few nearby , that best one is The Hillier Gardens ,it's their head quarters so to speak and it's stunning!:):)
