Hope you can photograph them in action with birds feeding on them. Best is of course, like @johnny canoe , out of his hands..

My feeders have got big holes and all the seeds were growing underneath the feeders. Today, son and I clear up most of the areas and I kept 2 or 3 red hot pokers. They are a nightmare as snails treat them like hotel and They become massive very quickly.

Today, I moved the whole lot out and separated tons of echinaceas and hellebores.. A bit worried as this is the first time I have had the hellebores in pots. I'm worried I might be killing them .. as I don't really like keeping them in pots.

I've got a hellebore Growing in a pot in the corner by the concervatory, it was a seedling that somehow got there. It never gets watered and it's very dry, but it's still there.

I want to make sure that they flower. 1st worry: I might kill them. 2nd worry: they might not flower. I woke up at 4 and now I am not myself. I have dug up quite a bit of the border and weeded it. It was full of seedlings from bird seeds. Tomorrow, I will do a lot of watering so that there will be room for the rainwater on Friday.

@Logan, I clicked BigC's link for the rhubarb, and noticed they have potted cranberries for sale - which reminded me. . . How are you feeling?

Pity my old Grandad wasn't still around he had masses of it grown ...(snip)... My grandparents really knew how to grow things especially veg, I wish I'd asked more questions back then

:) My grandfather was known for having the best rhubarb in his county. I don't know the details, but I can still remember him telling me that the secret was coal ashes. Wish I had asked more questions, too. :(

Funny you should say that @MaryMary ..I doo remember them tipping cold ashes from the fire bucket outside over the mound from tome to time...I wonder if ASH is a key factor...I have a multifuel stove there may be something in this...Thanks for jogging my memory..although questions should have been asked at the time...A lesson to all the younger - Mid aged people today...ask the questions before it becomes too late :)

Are you sure it is coal and not wood ashes, @MaryMary ?

According to @Logan , it's the wood ashes applied in March that does the trick to the abundant fruits.

Rhubarb does very well in the garden. Indeed, the leaves are so big that I have headache. I had to remove them just to walk the path. Lost my camera yet again. If my head were not screwed on my head, I would lose it too.
