@Verdun The tall white feather plants are astilbes? They can be that tall? I know they like moist and shade. Is your border shady or they can withstand sunshine as long as their roots are cool. I really like your combo.

Ha ha alp. Those "astilbes" are well over 8' tall. They are persicaria polymorpha.
I do have white astilbes but they grow about 80 cm tall.
If your soil is good and reasonably moisture retentive you can grow astilbes in the sun. I have several large clumps here and most are in sun or dappled shade.:)
Logan, you got it right....no watering (y)

We're now pouring down. I have tidied up quite a bit and I'm going to watch programmes on iplayer. For those who want to buy plants 5-13 September RHS Wisley is now Wisley Flower Festival .. Can you hear me, @Mark56 ? Hehe! I will definitely go..

I mean if Trump and Kim Jong-un give us a chance!

Naughty, naughty:rolleyes: .. Not for long, I can see something wet coming your way soon, from Ireland first though! I think we have only 18c here.. at the great height of summer. I was soaking wet trying to get every single drop of water .. Very excited though, no need to water for a while! Hurrah .. I know how @Logan feels ..

Like your photo .. What's in it?

Just sky alp, just sky but it's sort of blue without the white fuzzy stuff to be seen

I know. I was just fooling you ... I'm freezing here. What's your temperature? If the temperature is at 24c, we can go to the zoo tomorrow! But might wait for a while as if it is too cold, animals will stay indoors ..

@BigC How are your pains and aches? Usually, it's we women who discuss things like that. Do you have tinkling pains at the end of the your fingers or numbness?

Been nice this afternoon, picked some blackberries and redcurrants, hubby cut the grass. I potted on some more wallflowers finished them all. A few days ago i gave a neaghbour a lot of redcurrants, he said he'll make a pie with them. Not long ago he brought my dish back and one of the pies that he made for us.

I thought aches and pains are women's territories .. so wrong. A man made a pie .. amazing! It's so nice of him to give you one of his pies.. Lovely neighbours you've!

We're still raining and I have exhausted all my containers/receptacles .. and what not ..
