Holidaying in Norfolk on a hot day! Lovely! I love Norfolk and we hired a boat cruising the Norfolk Boards! Nice sand, just as seen in your photos and I ate A LOT in Havens which was brilliant in their catering! Happy memories and I'm sure you will like it there!

It's only 4.30, but it's a good idea to water the plants now. So will have a cup of coffee and out to conquer the drought and heat.

June has the greatest potential to surprise and sweeten and here we are: suddenly out of nowhere, there is something to rejoice at, especially they are the first blooms

DrCase: What is the last flower please? You've got steady hands and the blue salvia (Black and Blue?) or Blue and Bloom? is so full of details. Don't they have bugs your way? Your flowers are so perfect.

I had a very good day. Cleared a lot of irises and replanted some hellebores, planted out 2 wisteria, 2 fruit trees. That took the whole day. Now I know why my parrot tulips died without blooming properly - tulip fire. What a terrible thing. They were in buds and were very late and you can see the flowers, but they just shrivelled and failed to open.

Alp: this bloom is one I found on my Thalia yesterday.
The humidity was so high yesterday my lens would fog up on me before I new it.

Went to the allotment 8.20pm and came home 10pm. Even went to Sainsburys to get some Extra Virgin Olive Oil £3.50 for 750ml. Last time I paid £7 for same in Asda.

Its another grand day here again I am getting fed up of watering its all I seem to do at the moment . I've been putting some plant supports in today to late as usual but it doesn't matter. My wisteria finally leafed up I were starting to get a tad worried , no flowers again this year probably the cold spring damaged the buds I haven't seen any wisteria around here flowering properly but for the odd sporadic flower.
Think I'll plan out what's going in the large pots at the front door thinks at the moment dahlia thomas edison with some salvias plus trailing petunia and others.

I've got to pop round next door first I've dug a peony out from one of her friends garden to give to her ( not an ideal time to be moving a peony ) but first I've got to bride a Cheese and Onion pie out of her first , A little section of the peony broke off so its mine now muahahaha

One of my wisteria has no leaves at all and that was the biggest one. Yesterday after a trip to Lakeside and a meal at Prezzo, I moved the Capitaine wisteria to the front and it's now in position. I still don't know how to fashion a frame for it to climb on. And that was 8.30pm. I was wearing a dress and the mozzies came out in full assault at the back of my legs. I immediately had to beat retreat with severe battle scars. Even now, I have several warm raised spots at the back of both legs. You just can't win.

Perki: Imagine me surgically glued to the watering cans! I have just done an hour's of punitive labour and will do it again in the next hour before it's too hot.

DrCase: Salvia with black bracts or something called calyx is really striking. In fact the black calyx makes it more interesting. I'm hoping to see my Salvia Discolor flower and will upload it here. Still intrigued by Thalia. whenever I googled, it threw up 2 things - a woman or a daff!

As it was on Tesco voucher, the potion seemed to be very small for £13.50, but the flavour was still legendary!

This was cheaper. In another nursery, it was asking £21.99 for a 3L. I must have been living in a cage or under a rock!! How can prices rocketed like these????

Just now heard a terrible noise, went to the garden and there it was - one of the foxes who dug up my Polish and devoured it whole. Another terrible hot day to come!

G7 Minack Theatre in the Porthcurno clifftops of Penzance as a suitably ‘feminist’ place to host a picnic for the leaders’ wives.

Yes, quite right. This place is carved out of granite by a woman, of course, with men's and women's help. (Daft to be lectured to be woke!) It has, time and time again, been washed away by the waves, storms and other elements, but it rises ... It is a marvellous place - emblematic of a woman's granitey or steely resolve. Beautiful in spirit which is impossible to capture!

I had the pleasure of being there, at a time when I scarcely knew how to negotiate the narrow lanes of Cornwall. I had to fold the mirrors of my little Vauxhall to weave around the single narrow lanes. I saw a German VW van negotiate a very tight corner near the theatre! But in the end, all was worth it! Such a unique and stunning place!

I don't see why Johnson should spend £8m to splash out a runway for the US president who is not that nice to us. I just hope the US is not going to flush us with pasted meats or chlorinated chickens. In a way, I love this country - the farming ethics, liberal attitudes are to be commended. I hope the former is not brought to its knees by their compatriots in other countries. The romance of British farming should never be eroded. As for liberal attitudes, these are in danger of tearing the countries to pieces..
