I love all meconopsis and if I had been serious, I might even have flowers this year. The seeds weren't expensive and they did germinate here, but not so prolifically as yours (You're a natural!) I love red, violet, and this crazy blue .. They are all crazily gorgeous and I can only salivate!

I love the first one - the waves are aaaawwwesome! The beaches are beautiful - unlike the stone beaches of my late in-laws. Shame their children gave the house away! By the estuary and very peachful - the tree sapping sounded pretty lonely to me.

Did quite a bit. Bought some resting snowdrops online and chucked some grit on one plot and I hope this will stop narcissus fly. I had an Anglesey Orange Tip killed by one of those. The seller generously replaced it for me. I was so touched. Anybody can buy nematodes at a cheaper rate please? Please let me know.

Cistus and Rhapsody of Love rose responding to the heat

My Noir Corner - or reddish black? And now Striking petunia ruined the colour, but I love the tiny black violet, the stripey petunia, the aoenium and acer - not that black.. One of the irises is a Domino Noir £5 and hence no flower this year!

Polish rooster died yesterday. He hadn't been well and I segregated him from the rest and he even refused mealworms. Anyway, RIP, Ebony!

Remember that son was accused of flytipping by tatto pete? We confronted him last week and I said to him that he saw nothing as we NEVER flytip in that place and wait till someone did the same to his grand son. He came around later to apologise and said he would write to the committee to say sorry. Yesterday, saw the committee chairman and he said to me he did apologise, saying that it was a misunderstanding. The horrible thing was that this ex-druggie who started the trouble was a little bully. After he spread the rumour, he planted a metal rod right next to my plot as if signally beyond this point, it was his land. I'm not being funny. He has 3 half plots and I have one half plot. He has a shed, an arbor, and a greenhouse, a BBQ gadget, a set of metal garden table and chairs. He has moved in, more or less!

A month ago, we turned up first time to work the plot. He sat facing us for more than 45 minutes, sunning himself and probably intimidating us. Then, a small watering can appeared in the path between my plot and the water source, which was a source of hazard. Last week, after apologising to us, he put an empty wheelbarrow on the same spot! He was working in another plot north of his main plot with the wheelbarrow, just being a nuisance. The chairman said I could swap plots as there were quite a few others who didn't get along well with his neighbours. I said no. Just the thought of moving all the irises made me faint. Also, I have just established an asparagus plot.

On a happier note: Paul asked me if I had planted his comfrey. So he did give them to me, but I probably did go to the allotment and it was lost. He then gave me some lovely tomato plants. He actually used black plastic bags which I saw in the Australian gardening programmes. Very impressed. Last year, he gave me a lot of surplus toms as well. Nice man!

The amount of Indian Chief I have seen flowering was staggering. It was embarrassing. The allotment plot is full of bugs and the flowers all looked punctured with holes. The kale was no good as the slugs had a go first.

So confused about the names of these irises. I was expecting more different irises. But so far, only about 4 new ones in the allotment.

Last night I did gardening from 6 to 8pm at home as well as the light was blinding and it was definitely hot. Son went with ex to my ex's house by the seaside. Very peaceful here.

Yes. Glorious weather for all of us! A rare co-incidence! I weeded the front and stayed in the heat until 12 noon. Came in and watched crime on laptop and yet out again from 6.30 to 8. Cleaned up a lot of mess and after 2 cups of tea, I will be out to water the plants. 2 butts already gone!

Chelsea had the first major medalware after all the sackings. Lampard must have good compensation. Amazing how deep Roman A's pocket is. His main beneficiary has to be Ego Mou!

Ebony and my plot neighbour both have or had mental problems. Ebony was very fussy and wouldn't eat a lot of things and when it came to eating, he would peck the hens instead of eating. Just plain unpleasant. My plot neighbour told me that he saw my son flytip when I first confronted him. Last time, he said sorry and yet the bully in him would leave his wheelbarrow in the middle of the path for me to go to get water. He has been damaged by substance abuses. He said if he had taken drugs, he would have died 1987!

I'm not buying any irises from anybody unless they are in a pot in a proper nursery. All turned out to be the same.

When I was weeding yesterday at the front lawn, I heard some woman yapping in her own language and at the same time, she was panning her camera all over my flowers/garden. Quite surreal!

And what beautiful flowers you have, too! The blue of the last photo is stunning! Love that one below the camassia!

Early in the morning, I went and finished the rest of the driveway and I might apply another treatment so that I can finish the job properly.

Watched Murder in the Park and I can safely repeat that even the dogs in Sydenham knew who killed Daniel Morgan. Amazing how these people could pull a straight face - these people literally used their police contact and sold stories to tabloid trash. And police staff even joined the business which he got from his partner. When the suspect was caught in a 12-minute long phone conversation, you could see he lost his bravado. Very sad for Daniel Morgan's family! Corruption and cover-ups in police force have a lot to answer for.

Went out to dig up my more than 26 years' old tea rose and finished work about 9pm. Watched Kew garden and was almightily confused by the years (post lockdown?? Not likely) No idea. A bit like jumbled video clips.

Sue and her husband are ferrying horse manure today the whole day in the allotment and so I will go there to get some. Going to be another scorcher. So nice to see NO rain in the north. I'm out to do some serious watering. The sun is already up and early!

It was very hot yesterday, but somehow when I went to the allotment (horse manure days - about 2 in the whole year!) at about 4.20, it was clouded over and wonderfully pleasant for all the hard labour.

My dahlias and salvias are out a month ago. Thank you, Perki! No, the Indian Chief are everywhere. I bought the rhizomes from mostly Thompson and Morgan, some on fleabay, some from Prins which I don't trust any more after my experience from Primavera which should be green/white but turned out to be pink single. When the rhizomes came to me, they were dry, old and shrivelled - a bit like me! Some died, some took 3 years to flower. But this year, the chocolate one, the sharp yellow on dark chocolate and the scented lilac (which boasts of 9 buds on a stem) and Night Edition have really made me very happy. The Grenade from Cayeux is going to flower. But Cayeux had never sent me any replacement or refund. I wish I had read the letter, not to find that they had drought and that they replaced my rhizomes. The quality of the rhizomes was just like those from T&M. I have Indian Chiefs in the allotment as well as at home.

My first edition of NIGHT EDITION - just love the blue!

Lagurus Ovatus!

Some of my irises didn't flower either. if the rhizomes are not exposed, that could be the trouble and you know me: I want to have.every plant on earth and hence some rhizomes are clouded by others. I'm expecting Blue Bird Wine and Black Dragon, but this year they are a bit elusive. Talking about Wisteria, my first big one is dying. The Capitaine has been spared by the professional weeders - the chickens - and I layered it and I couldn't see any buds, the pure white scented Japanese are showing buds but they are few and far between. This has been an awful year. Still, a poor workman shouldn't blame his/her toods! Well, a veteran allotmenteer has great globe onion leaves which are 8 times the height of mine. Well, I sowed the seeds about 2 weeks ago. Considering the weather, this has been a very bad year! Normally, I had courgettes the size of a marrow. This year, I don't have one plant. But still, some irises are going to make me smile and make me feel rich!

Went to allotment again. Before that, my heart felt stressed and my gum seemed to give. I had to rest and son was home early. We went there nearly 6pm. I fashioned some strings and sticks to support the toms, All given by Paul and Sue. Then used the netting to protect my cabbage. First time I have grown them properly.

Very pretty meconopsis - and your greenhouse is full of future wonders! Mine is full of thirsty plants. Couldn't believe that I woke up 3.20am. Camassias are putting on a good show. Looks like you have a pittosporum.

What a good day on the rain front! Proper rain and all butts nearly full + 2 rubbish bins and 8 buckets. Very happy. Only good stuff from France.

From 10am, it started to rain and it was only 11am when it got serious. Very, very happy! Now there will be a fortnight of drought. But hey, I should pinch myself for heavens' generosity.

Watched When Woman abuse Men, it was riveting watching. Also, watched A year in Kew and now I know why you have to pay for parking for Wakehurst. We never knew that it was so big as we only went to the seed bank and the old building, never being able to spend a whole day there. What beautiful lotuses there were! However, it was like a damp quid when the flower failed to open properly to be pollinated.

Painted Woman is packed with details and gold and good enough to the flower for West Ham,

The weather has been diabolical this year. Vegs are slow or they germinated and the cold killed them off. Going to watch GW!

PS: Can't believe it! GW is in Wakehurst
