Morning all overcast hear but no rain as yet ,Sunday forecast and next week looks like more ,have a great gardening day all…….

I was cross-checking the Weather.com and Met office weather report. Met O said there would be no rain in the afternoon whilst Weather.com said there would be rain like 3pm. In the end, came 5pm it really rain and heavily for about 2 hours. I shifted the water from the butts to various buckets and now I have 7 empty butts and probably there would be NO rain. I felt
such a fool.

Saw the omnipresent spider webs covering fields and fields of crops, I felt so sorry for the Australian farmers, not to mention the millions of rats pumped out of chutes.

I never really like hot weather. Last night, forgot to open the door and I was hot and itchy again. Woke up before 3am and had to open the door and I slept till 6am.

Would be very happy if half of this materialises!

Yesterday saw my first dahlia of the year - Teesbrooke Audrey!

Yesterday, we enjoyed a roasted pork dinner and the beetroots were delicious .. I'm now a big fan! Off to watch Beechgrove

Watched half way of the Bridgewater project. Very good. £30m. I reckon Salford will be choc-a-bloc with cars. Lovely place with lovely canals and media centre! Now to feed the hens before they devour my eggs!

Was trying to freecycle a water butt, one of the messages was sent to the spam bin. Only got her next message at 7.20pm and so I kept asking her to send me the address. She ignored me and said there were 5 others waiting. I asked again and then no response. She then told me she emailed me 8.25 in the morning. I checked the bin and then the spam and saw her email in amongst some colourful childish icon and some graphic description of something phallic. I was surprised and I never wanted to go to the spam again.

Monty is moving his Salvia Dombeyi and I planted mine out 2 days ago. Sadly, mine is about 1/10 of his size and I took some cuttings for insurance.

That Meconopsis is very nice @zenji and the Tiger coloured lily @DrCase , You've got some Iris Alp and lilies .

Busy week planting out and filling pots, had no rain this week I am shocked you've had rain alp and I haven't makes a nice change for once I suppose .

Very busy day today planting out all day , I've come in for a brew and a choc ice I've done most of the planting today I think I've ran out of compost for one with one last pot left to plant up except for so little pots I may fill with night stocks and pelargoniums.

Filled up the two fence troughs at the front of the house and emptied them sorted the bulbs out, used petunia mainly I seem to have grown loads this year, could do with to center / specimen plants so may pop to the GC tomorrow. Planted out quite a few busy lizzie salmon I had left around the lavenders with a few cosmos at the end of the bed .

Tidied up the hot border of allium leaves the poor achillea can now breath hopefully they catch up now , added some tithonia - annual rudbeckia and cleome to the hot bed .

Tidied up another border behind the kitchen window mostly allium leaves again I've just filled that border with nicotaina white perfume hopefully I get a nice drift of white but it never seem to work as you think it will do in your head , normally sometimes happend like slugs eat half of them, the bird feeder next to that bed the blackbirds are getting very timid they come to the feed even when I am only 4-5 foot away.

I've decided forget me not are BANNED in the garden they've smothered and killed off my geranium Orkney Cherry that's the second plant they've killed off after finding Penstemon garnet, annoyingly I usually take cutting or I did and they didn't take but I give the cutting away, everyone else Garnet are doing well but mine kicked the bucket.

Perki: you don't know how happy I was when I had nearly all butts and buckets full - about 30 buckets, watering cans! The path from the garage back door to the garden totally blocked. Sadly, the heat killed one of my Viburnum Plicatum Mariesiis.

Talking about forget me not, I used to have them everywhere in the garden, but this year, I seem to have it under control, it's the Nigella that had taken over control in the allotment. Last we arrived 9.30 after shopping at Aldi to get Godfather steaks x 2 and 1 Wagyu beef. Very costly. But just wanted to try them. Can't stretch to Tomahawk as it is very dear! Then got the water butt and did 2 hours of hard labour in the allotment. removed the blades of some 30 (at least) Indian Chief and erected the new mesh under which I want to grow Chinese leaves and Park choi.

Watched the development of Salford Bridgewater and for some reason, episode 2 is defective. The amount of money spent is obscene.

I wonder if this is Salvia Hians from Zenj?? Very interesting looking!

Was very surprised to see an unblemished Gillian Blades, especially when it had been raining. A perfect specimen.

Look at how majestic the old vista was! Elevations and levels. Now, RHS has ruined this aspect and levelled the whole estate.

They have turned it into a pancake or fen land of the north west or Instead of keeping the elevation and lake, they man-made one!

This really has killed all the romance.

It was drizzly yesterday and we went to Enfield. We pass by Tottenham Hotspur headquarters or training ground every time we go there. Not a good pic as it was grey and miserable. Now that it's been raining, it has been cold.

Bought another Echinacea praecox. About 4 years ago, I saw one with a bud for £3 which I didn't buy. I have regretted it ever since. Then I bought one which would look at me, sulk and its leaves eaten by SS and roots overwhelmed by the stinging nettle like weeds. I really love this yellow one. It looks like an Echinacea Pallida but with yellow droopy petals. Let's hope I'm lucky this time. Bought another Poppin Purple agapanthus. Replanted mulberry Charlotte Russ and emptied one whole butt onto the front as the ground still felt dry.

Planted out a chocolate cosmos and I wish I had been quick buying the seeds for the T&M chocolate cosmos. They were gone so quickly.

From 29c to 17c, the drop in temperature is terrifying.

Clematis it flowered very early on and I was horrified to think it would be standing there looking at me for the whole year. Now it is reblooming!
