Good morning, Upsy!

Sunny already and it isn't too cold - there is a breeze here. Going to sow some of my milkweed seeds and keep half for next year. Need to sow the Giant allium seeds from China before I buy any more. Hope they are true giants. Last time I bought from China, Giant Stawberries turned out to be inedible alpine strawberries!

I will leave my toms in my greenhouses which are sited on the path which has the morning sun evening setting sun, so I will carry on watering until they are no more. Really love the little ones as they are so sweet. Those self seeded from a packet of seeds are no good and have been dumped on top of the fake rockery which is basically an old carpet covering tons of rumble and on top of that tons of woodchips.

Have a lot of cuttings -
  1. wiegela with pink flowers
  2. oceanthus
  3. white rose floribunda thornless again
  4. ivy with globe like flowers and NO air roots
  5. Variegated dogwood
  6. some scented branches over-hanging outside someone's dwarf wall

Can someone identify this scented tree for me please

For me, ideal for gardening! Perfect as I'm a heat generator!

I don't fuss over them. Once you have a seed head, just chuck them onto the ground and voila they will say hello! In fact, my garden was so overrun with Christophii that I ripped them up and chucked them. Have you got Purple Sensation in your garden?

A woman told me that in the park near us there were 3 sweet chestnut trees. Yesterday whilst in the zoo, a conker cracked and nearly hit me and it exploded with a cracking noise and hit the ground. It dawned on me that I should see if there are sweet chestnuts to be had for free.

Went there this morning, a bit into one confirmed they were sweet chestnut, but very raw and if they thing cracked open, the squirrels had already beaten me to them. Foraging is not exactly romantic when it comes to chestnut hunting.

My Dad has 3 huge Sweet Chestnut trees in his back garden.
You can roast them....Yum!:)

Wow! How do you harvest them please? Please tell me when you can pick them up from the ground. I think it will be around this week. Last time I went the squirrels and visitors had had them all. We had nothing except I came home with my broken leg as my friend walked so fast.

Next thing I need to do is to buy some watercress and chuck some into my lily tub so that I can have home grown water cress.

Been working flat out from 1 to 5pm without any break. One of the Montana roots went right to the ground soil and it was a nightmare getting the roots out of the pot. I have reduced the number of pots to half. Have done a lot, but still left the lawn with loads of unfinished business.

A bit average compared with others. I might start watching Love your garden itv hub. I prefer GR as they are cheaper and not the shameless plugging as in Love your garden. I really have started to enjoy GR.

Oh, dear! Soon, there will be no gardening programmes!
