I hope you all had a great day, sorry not to have looked in but had a hectic day. Had a lovely BBQ at my Dad's , brother drop by too, afterwards we went on to my sister's for a couple of hours. It was our 39th wedding anniversary, so lots happy reminiscing and some remembering of loved ones we have since sadly lost .
A bitter sweet day! (y)

Oh, Happy 39th anniversary!

Good morning, everybody! It's not cold indoors, though I have topped up with another layer. Must take out my fritillaira imperalis to pot up, allium, and take cuttings and continue with whatever was left from yesterday.

Come to think of it, Wiegela flowers really are very small! Ooops! Fooled by the googled images. So it's official that we really can't sit outside because of the foul air and booming rap music. The house from which the music came from was burgled after 4 to 6 months ago. Someone got hold of one door as if talking to another person inside who poured tons of bleach on the carpet and some other activity.Fancy being boomed for the whole of Saturday afternoon. It was much louder than that. Another reason to move!

Morning @alp:) Thanks:D
A bit nippy ( 15c) and apparently we're not going to see much of the sun today :(

Not too sure what my plans will be, not keen on gardening in cold, sunless weather! Might have a housework day as tomorrow is suppose to be a day of sunshine or could have a greenhouse day taking some more cuttings ....hmmm decisions ,decisions.

Have a good day, doing whatever it is you've got planned.:)(y)

Yes, very nippy, but very sunny. Just melted a Black and Decker toy saw, trying to cut the trunk of a yew. £66 is a bargain for any visit to the garage. But of course, best is not to have to visit them in the first place.

Well, my lottery investment has evaporated and away with it my dream of being a millionaire!

Lovely to go around gcs. Yesterday I saw a double gazania red like a multi-star and yellow

The red ones looked exactly like that but different shades of red. Yellow

Yellow looked like these

but with rings of different yellows. Very interesting, but as season is drawing to a close, I decided to leave them well alone!

Well I braved it and a cold day in the garden. Pulled out the two remaining large clumps of the nameless daisy:devil:. Now have 4 small clumps left which I will manage as if my life depended on it, if I feel that they are too hard to control then out they will come!!

Potted on some trailing Fuchsias. Also potted on some Calendulas
Read up on taking some Petunia cuttings to give winter blooms inside the house...hmmm  we shall see! I've taken 4.(y).

Deadheaded all round the garden, things are definitely fading fast now.

Had our 4th BBQ of the week......thats fading fast too :cold:

Well done, @Upsy Daisy ! Now they know who the boss is!

I had a piroette petunia cutting and just when I thought I was doing well, it died on me in April! Grrrrrrrrrr!

4th BBQ!? I love the smell of BBQ, but we haven't had one so far. We had another aromatic duck with home grown cucumber (tons of horrible thorns) and home grown giant toms which my son refused point blank to try!

I have to say, they didn't taste that good. Could be the weather or they are not that great. Jury is still out!

Got rid of a 8 foot tall more than 30 years old yew tree. Sorry it had to go as it trapped the poisonous air. Even my son noticed it. Nex to go is the swing from neighbour. Now I know when neighbour gives you stuff - it can be a way of saving them a trip to the tip! But it was useful at that point. So couldn't blame him. Very sad, two elderly neighbours nearly 90 years old! Just hope they don't sell their house to rap music fanatics! I feel like moving to Shetland!

Evening , Had a few showers this afternoon but its not been a bad day.

Been to another GC this morning for some taylor bulbs but very disappointed, they didn't have the bulbs I wanted and had nowhere near as much selection they should of had, I didn't buy anything :(.

Well done Upsy job done for now (y)

Might be a bad time / to late to say but Conifers are know to be good for air pollution.

What are you after, @Perki? I am very pleased with my erythronium bulbs as they were fat and plump, unlike those I bought last year.

I have felled a bay tree and conifer, but the conifer really trapped the air flow and the poisonous air just lingers in my garden. Now it can go straight as the wind takes it.

My neighbour is very mindful of trees being felled. I felt sad too as it took a long time for it to grow that much. If I didn't have neighbours like these, they would be still there. I remember I used to hide next to it, holding onto the branches and inhaling and exhaling.

@Upsy Daisy Sadly there is now one lone man in each household. It's like one foot in the grave. My neighbour was very sad and about 7 years ago, he lamented that he had had a lovely marriage and wonder where it had all gone wrong. He was more or less married to a lady in bed for nearly 10 years. The woman died last year! Think I will try Wales - at least it is warmer. Wouldn't it be lovely to have a pond in my garden!

Guess what, @Upsy Daisy ? I'm watching Vanity Fair now. Becky has no flair or cunning in her look. A very homely maid! Wonder who cast her?

Aw! That's so sad. My Dad's a bit like that ,always looking through photos and playing old songs that prompt memories of past happy shared times with Mum and us as children. :(
