Its felt like autumn on its way today, chilly this morning with a heavy dew. Mowed the front lawn this evening and picked up bits of dead grass off the back lawn, hopefully will rotavate the back lawn this weekend. I've seen a euoyumus altas already in autumn red today

A lot of plants what are supposed to flower all summer / most of the year never do for me, like Guem totally tangerine supposed to flower from May to October mine finished months ago, I could name a few more plants but can be bothered. The only plant I've had what will flower and flower is Erysimum Bowles Mauve. I haven't had many disappearing acts though, I only plant out large plants and never direct sow seeds.

I actually have geums still flowering now and some have set seeds. They probably like the heat. I still have a yellow one smiling at me. But I feel cheated again as the flowers are pathetically small and insignificant. I have planted tons of tubers and they are all in green - literally masses of dahlia leaves. Irises which never flower as the rhizomes were shrivelled and tiny and after much TLC, have now got proper leaves. I would be in tears again if they were all Indian Chiefs again!

Yes, I have checked all the temperatures, apart from 24c in a few days' time, they will be hovering around 20c. Bad news as I need to open all windows to air the place and when it's cold, I need to turn on the air purifier and still feel being trapped in a drug den!

My first lot didn't either.. makes it more upsetting that I nurtured a 2nd lot!! No slugs...they literally vanished ,along with all the snap dragons overnight!! Plenty of other ones did too :(

Cleomes are beautiful flowers. But they need heat and moisture. Back home, my sister and I just chucked the seeds on the ground before it rained, they would come up and be very cheerful and stylish!

Snap dragons will self seed themselves here! Are you sure? I never bother about them. If I saw snapdragons, I would rip them up! I treat them like aquilegias! I have uprooted 3 of them. One was massive!

You should set up a camera to catch the critter!

We set up our camera and once saw a fox go for a bird - a split second and we had to rewind to see it. Apart from that, just a lot of bugs flying around!

Last year I bought 2 black double one and this year, none came back. Those popping up were single mauve ones. I felt bad ripping them up, but I needed to make sure my salvias have room and water to grow on the narrow raised bed. So now, it's become some sort of practice!

Is it worth keeping? Please upload photo! Shame that my aquilegias never show me any flowers. If they had, I would give them a chance. I have headache that they are self seeding everywhere. I had tried to sow Nora Barlow seeds and of course, not a beep!

Sounds like you're in not very robust health! Eat more fruit and vegs. I have now carrots, celery (for my arthritic knees), homegrown beans, grapes, clementines (Lidl) and apples nearly every day! I also bought bananas for the skin to be used as fertilisers. We also have lemons to marinate our chicken. Son is now the expert. Also, I use a lot of rosemary for roasting pork and chicken!
