Glad that you've got a well-deserved break! Hope you get more than enough money for the car! Ouch!

Your soul will be nourished once you step into your garden or greenhouse. I can't wait to go outside, but I think it's drizzling.

British bumblebees are getting hooked on the 'nicotine-like' buzz of dangerous pesticides which could damage their navigational skills
  • Pesticides have been damaging Bumblebees memory and navigational skills
  • Harmful chemicals produces a similar buzz in the brain to nicotine in humans
  • Bees that are exposed to pesticides keep going back for more, study shows

How human beings are destroying the environment! Even bees are not spared!

It’s scares me how our environment is getting destroyed and how many people don’t care there was a twitter post of a guy stood next to a lion he shot with the biggest smile on his face made me feel sick there’s now a name and shame campaign in him he deserves all he gets

All to do with money, status and power! Men prefer money to morality!

Just trying to use baking soda, hot water and vinegar to try to unblock the drain. The whole concoction bubbled and frizzled out. Fun and I will repeat this experiment before I really must get something corrosive.

Have you got an old school wire coat hanger ? Or garden wire may do try pushing that down the plug hole

I need to ask son to have a look. He said that he couldn't reach certain parts of the drainage system and that the outgoing pipe is higher than the part connecting to the twin ceramic sinks. It obviously is not working, despite all the bubbles and fizz and the expectations. Will try again later. Cheaper this way and not so damaging to the fish and eventually human beings!

Any big plans today, @Leeski !

Whoa! You're amazing. Nice to have chicken poo as at least you don't have to weed like a fool! I want to get some more horse manure as, for some reason, the poo pile in the stable had diminished dramatically. It was as if it had been taken for commercial usage. Just a tiny bit left. But can't do it as it's raining, well, just a bit of drizzle. Incidentally, I have some of these wine brewing tumblers to get rid off - some 4 of them. Should have put them on fleabay on Monday as they charge only £1. Need to get my act together to get rid of the stuff I don't need. Will do a bootsale in September when people are back from holidays!

Morning all.
Hubby got the hyacinths bulbs and the crocus bulbs yesterday, waiting for the tulips next month and that's it.

@alp when the hot water hits the cold drain it cools down, so not very effective. As @Leeski said, try making some holes in it with something. Have you got plastic pipes? If you haven't try heating the pipe up with a hair dryer. Be careful with any water around. Don't do it on plastic pipe, it will melt it.

That's great, what fruit are you going to use?
I used to make my own wine, Made some elderberry wine, it was just like port. Made ginger wine and it had a natural fizz to it.
Like the sound of ginger wine I have lots of fruit I used to go to the veg markets in Manchester and Birmingham to source fresh produce for work I have got a lot of over ripe fruit that the traders couldn’t sell made a lot into pulp and froze down

:wacky::dead:Morning!
A bit grey looking outside but dry. Not cold as we had all the windows open during the night.

Oh dear @alp didn't realise that you still had drain problems.....can you get to the u bend and ( with a bucket underneath) open it up and remove it from that angle?

We use to make all our own wine.......still have some very vintage stuff in the Demi Johns!!!!!. Tea wine was a particularly nice one that our old neighbour told us about.
We used lots of different fruit... great fun......but strong stuff!!!:hungover::hungover:

Ginger sounds good and good for beating arthritis as well. You sound like my friend who would go to Sainsburys to get all the leftovers from the fish counter!

I'm trying to grow some more ginger. Also, I bought a packet of lemon grass seeds for 50p! Hope to see some result.

Didn't know you were into wine!

Hope @Leeski 's going to send us some FULL BODIED RED wine for Christmas! That's the expectation, any way! Is that right, Leeski?
