I use to make my own cards , many years back. Trouble was storing everything!! My friend has a dedicated card making room, some of her designs are utterly amazing.!!

As I said storage was a main factor to why I packed in.....along with all my chidcare equipment it seemed as we were slowly being crowded out of our house:)

I'm struggling to find drawers for my son's clothes. He bought so much at the uni ...

Hello, my trip was goodish but could of been better, other than going to the pubs / bars etc want to a water park with a 108 foot water slide taller than you think when you get to the top. Earache subsided now but it wouldn't stop popping now.

I agree with zenji about play sand, It can be used but the particles are very fine so the water won't drain as well. I used Sharp Sand for drainage, I used Vermiculite as well but Vermiculite does hold a bit of moisture unlike perlite.

Upload some photos.. Or in Virtual tour here! Glad that you were enjoying liquid in another form!
Oh, dear! Is there a way to stop your earache!?

Yes, perlite is really for drainage and opening up soil!

Very good @Leeski .....keep us updated with pics please. You are very inspirational.....always willing to give things a go and to attempt the unconventional.....who needs miniature trees when you can have a miniature winter flowering Jasmine! Lovely!:)(y)

The sun has come out and it's now lovely. @Leeski is right. We might have an Indian summer.

A friend brought up the idea of using the Reusable Shopping Bags stores sell, of course as grow pots. Inexpensive. Should last,...well in my area with the sun, perhaps 3 seasons. Further north 4 or 5 would not be out of the question.

To reuse stuff is always better than just chucking them. If you see the fridge or /and freezer dumped, you will be horrified by how we abuse our environment!

Looking forward to this Indian summer

Will Britain enjoy an Indian summer? Icy frost, mist and heavy rain are set to blight country this week... before UK basks in warm September sunshine
  • Forecasters predict ground frost as temperatures could fall to just 37F (3C) tomorrow and Thursday nights
  • Daytime weather this week set to feel average with cloud and sunny spells and temperatures at 70F (21C)
  • But area of high pressure is set to build in next few days, with warmer-than-average conditions next week
  • Temperatures could rise to 82F (27C) at best and bring a possible return to drier and more settled weather

27c .. I'm fainting at the thought already! Today has been lovely! The chicken was so big that it was undercooked! What a nightmare! But it was full of flavour. More cooking apples for me!:cry::cry:

Can't raise a smile in me even though they are FREE!:eek::LOL:

I wish I had a baby to make a mess in my house!

Didn't do much today. Watched some holiday snaps on LG HD TV and the quality was so much better than watching them on my laptop.

Yes, it makes me wish that I was fit enough to take on another family with very young children....but I have to be realistic, physically I couldn't cope with prolonged baby carrying or pram pushing and not forgetting the 11 hour day...without breaks!

Really not keen on this staying at home/ retirement malarkey.....so want to be out there in the fun and nurturing world of child/ family care again.

This coming time of year always makes me miss my job....spring and summer allows me to turn my attention to gardening.....but the dark, grey days are on the horizon once again, dreading it. Not that I can't find things to do or hobbies to enjoy...I can, but they don't really give me that worth while feeling , that satisfaction of a job well done.
Hey ho, that's life:((y)

You might have one or 2 jobs coming along. Don't despair. You can start sowing seeds as early as January!

Good morning to a very dark day and a bit of drizzle. 14c which is bearable and not too cold. Will do the wall papering today and get some drain cleaner as the vinegar didn't seem to work. I woke up to another 2 sinks of water again. Will plant a hibiscus in the front lawn and take more cuttings.

Going to rain later. I reckon not a lot, but all is welcome.
