That's brilliant. Hope you can lug it to your car! Well done! For cuttings, I prefer sand and compost. Perlite is almighty expensive. It doesn't improve the structure of the soil, unlike vermiculite. I would say, put an advert in Freegle as there are always people who have something lurking in their parents' homes or people do an audit of their garage .. I even had Epsom salt which, at that point, I didn't know what it was!

Also have a big bag of Vermiculite too.....and actually prefer it because you don't end up with green looking compost, but then appearance isn't everything :ROFLMAO:

I use to make my own cards , many years back. Trouble was storing everything!! My friend has a dedicated card making room, some of her designs are utterly amazing.!!

As I said storage was a main factor to why I packed in.....along with all my chidcare equipment it seemed as we were slowly being crowded out of our house:)

Hello, my trip was goodish but could of been better, other than going to the pubs / bars etc want to a water park with a 108 foot water slide taller than you think when you get to the top. Earache subsided now but it wouldn't stop popping now.

I agree with zenji about play sand, It can be used but the particles are very fine so the water won't drain as well. I used Sharp Sand for drainage, I used Vermiculite as well but Vermiculite does hold a bit of moisture unlike perlite.

Did you see the guy who won the young garden designer of the year? His bug hotels were so chic and they became a central feature of his design!

That's the trouble and when you are caught out, you didn't even know that you HAD KILLED some seedlings!
