You can sow seeds now. After all the heat and the rain, the best recipe for sowing direct! Rain!:cry: Where's my share?

If you can any zinnia seeds and even salad leaves .. direct sow and you will see them blistering in no time.

Morning all cooler and cloudy here fingers crossed for some rain?

YES, WE ALL NEED RAIN! LIQUID GOLD!

I think I might have a big hog in my garden! A round hump crawled out of the patch and too slow for a rat or cat and too big for a rat. I must film them to share with you all. Don't think it will be as spectacular as yours though!

Susposed to be showery all day some heavy .
Tidying greenhouse and shed today looks a tornado struck in a garden centre :)

Very lucky you. Remember to pray for and with us for rain please. Need to go to the post office. Really dislike the new ones where the staff are so grumpy and rude.

The fried okra must be your favorite dish. Wish I could do something like this. Like deep fried stuff, but never occur to me to do it outdoors. If I do it in the kitchen, it will set the alarm off.

Lovely bread. Surprised that you don't like cloves, @DirtMechanic ! If your Becky insert in the crackling pork skin, you will realise its wonderful aroma and flavour. I prefer it to cinnamon. Glad that we like different things. I also have learned to love turmeric for health reason.

Good morning to and good day to all!

4 am at the dot, I went groping in the dark to water my pets. In the middle patch, I suddenly saw a round hump crawl out of it and disappear into the next patch. I think I saw a HEDGEHOG! Whoa! It is not a rat as it it tooooo big and slow. Not a cat and it was too round an too humpy. When son's home, I will ask him to set up the camcorder to record my VISITOR'S movements. I have been putting tons of shelled sunflower seeds and wild bird food outside my lean-to with the very dishonourable purpose of trapping pigeon. OK, I admit, it's not nice of me, but we did eat pigeons back home as a delicacy. It's like duck, but not a duck, if you know I mean. But hey, to see such a big hedgehog, though a bit dark, was a thrilling experience. Shame I don't have powerful torch to hand.
I love okra dearly. Eating it more than crawling around the prickly plants. I am amused by your thoughts for pigeon. Around here it is not uncommon to meet people who know how to corn feed a trapped Opossum for a similar purpose. Please do not eat the groundhog. They are just too cute.

Morning all and @alp i i thought that you meant cuttings. Yes it's best to keep your house tidy and it's not the sort of weather for some seeds

@DirtMechanic that looks good. Never tried a BQ does it have to be burnt food? It's not good for us. Can't even have burnt toast, has to be lightly browned.

Barley to the vets for his booster at 9am.
Changed to a more local one at southcrest. It's up a steep hill and can see for miles over Redditch..
Not at all burnt. A major mistake is often cooking directly over the heat or with too many coals so it is too hot rather than indirectly cooking which is so much nicer.

A spare bottle full of water is handy when cooking over coals .
Been a chef for over 20 years and can honestly say I have never cooked okra or eaten it sounds like I have missed out !

I found having old plants in with the chillies, can give the chillies greenfly.
Especially fuchsias and geraniums.
