@Logan can drag herself out, especially in winter - cold, dark, rain, or even snow:eek:! If I had a dog, I would train him to get up 7am and 8 in winter!
I've got used to it. But last Sunday we oversleep the alarm kept going off but we kept falling asleep, didn't get up until 5.15am.
If we got up at 7pm lose half the morning.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yes, Upsy! Same here. My so-called rockery is too dry for anything to grow on. Neighbour has another big hole to let out air, so you can understand that my whole garden is being dried up by this ar, even at the far end of my garden. All my strawberries in pots or hanging baskets are dead. Some expensive snowdrops could not be found.:eek:! Turned the pots and found nothing or a tiny bit the size of 5p and that was lucky. I need to get up at 4 tomorrow to water the bone dry garden. My ex was commenting how dry the tomatoes were and he paid £10 for me to water them!:LOL: Well, not exactly. But it will be spent on metered water.

I think I am going to write a list for drought resistent plants rather than watering them.

Logan: I can't sow any seeds now as I don't want the house to look untidy and also the air is very dry in Essex. So, there's no point of trying, not for the time being unless there are periods of heavy rain to replenish the moisture in the air.

We are on clay , the lake across the road was a clay quarry originally. The ground is so dry and cracked :(

Same here! I can see the cracks everywhere in my lawn. Thank heavens that neighbour's nasty bitter cherry has roots in our LAWN, NOT UNDER MY HOUSE or it might cause subsidence! Off to bed now to get up early to take care of my PET! LOL!

The fried okra must be your favorite dish. Wish I could do something like this. Like deep fried stuff, but never occur to me to do it outdoors. If I do it in the kitchen, it will set the alarm off.

Lovely bread. Surprised that you don't like cloves, @DirtMechanic ! If your Becky insert in the crackling pork skin, you will realise its wonderful aroma and flavour. I prefer it to cinnamon. Glad that we like different things. I also have learned to love turmeric for health reason.

Good morning to and good day to all!

4 am at the dot, I went groping in the dark to water my pets. In the middle patch, I suddenly saw a round hump crawl out of it and disappear into the next patch. I think I saw a HEDGEHOG! Whoa! It is not a rat as it it tooooo big and slow. Not a cat and it was too round an too humpy. When son's home, I will ask him to set up the camcorder to record my VISITOR'S movements. I have been putting tons of shelled sunflower seeds and wild bird food outside my lean-to with the very dishonourable purpose of trapping pigeon. OK, I admit, it's not nice of me, but we did eat pigeons back home as a delicacy. It's like duck, but not a duck, if you know I mean. But hey, to see such a big hedgehog, though a bit dark, was a thrilling experience. Shame I don't have powerful torch to hand.

Morning all and @alp i i thought that you meant cuttings. Yes it's best to keep your house tidy and it's not the sort of weather for some seeds

@DirtMechanic that looks good. Never tried a BQ does it have to be burnt food? It's not good for us. Can't even have burnt toast, has to be lightly browned.

Barley to the vets for his booster at 9am.
Changed to a more local one at southcrest. It's up a steep hill and can see for miles over Redditch..

Good morning, @Logan ! Nice view for you on the way to the vet. Here in Essex, it's mostly flat. Managed to water the front garden. Well pleased. If the plants die, it's not my fault.

Love this gooseberry. Very sweet. I prefer gooseberries to red currants.
