Back from hols in italy the hotel internet was poor so couldn’t post belated birthday wishes to Upsy Daisy and Mark56 will post some holiday snaps later

Most things are already looking greener with the rain and cooler temperatures, more rain forecast later. Fell out with some polemonum caeruleum, they are nice at first but they get to leggy and collapse and self seed everywhere, they look a rite mess at the moment.

I can understand. I think you need some heleniums or echinaceas. Tomorrow, I will try my luck with the orange Echinacea again. I have yellow, red, (er, I think!) purpurea, but no orange. I need buy the seeds but they died. You want a statement piece - upright, tall and proud. I am thinking of ripping up my helenium lollipop as well. They are straggly, all over the air, not enough to make an impact! As you said, a right mess! I might sink a big pot of hydrangea in.

Lucky you. I always want to go to Italy! Such a beautiful place. My friend said that all the Italians were beautiful, but everything was expensive and they had to buy water. Funny thing was that all her daughters came here to do A levels and universities and she went to Switzerland and said it was so expensive that she had to eat pot noodles.
Hahaha! Mind you, whenever we went on holiday, we took our rice cooker, rice and even a little fridge. One day, the mini fridge fell open in the lobby! Very embarrassing! Enough digression. You could have a thread in general chit chat so that we can ogle your holiday snaps. We'd like to know your birthday as well. It's nice just to come together on a thread to celebrate another milestone in our lives. You must have a good time there, Zenj ! Next time, I must provide the thread to make life easier for all! Another lesson learned!

Wish you could share. But it's good that if you have rain, the water from the west should fill the Thames. We need this badly! Very lucky, you are! Do you have butts to catch the liquid gold?
See, we're soulmates! Same here - all sorts of containers, trays, bowls - very messy, but this is liquid gold. Sadly, I don't have the need even to make the garden messy with all these receptacles.
I'm worried that I might have to do this sooner than I think! Waaaa! Waaaa waaah! Not funny. Even Wimbledon is dry!
