Good night to @DirtMechanic and Good morning to some others.

It was such a closed and hot night.I had the fan on for an hour and couldn't fall asleep, worried about being late for watering this morning. Now I am hot for another reason - kisses from mossies again. A big patch of blood on the inside near the ankle of the right foot and one on my neck. I woke up 4am - boy, I had been so nervous about being late and my left hand has new bite and is itchy like hell!

Some weird looking dahlias are flowering. Lobelias are starting to smile at me! In between typing this out, I am scratching one hand with another. We do have a bloom, not of flowers, but mossies. Hope @DirtMechanic knows the meaning now!

I hope it's going to be very cloudy today and I can't wait for tomorrow's drop in temperature

Gosh @alp......I haven't got that many to share.....you've got an amazing selection there:)(y)

Sorry to hear that the mozzies have taken a fancy to you again, must be very painful:(

Thankfully the temperature should take a very welcomed dip tomorrow, hopefully we are going to be down to 23c... :) much better still if there was some rain in it!(y)(y)

Have another Melting Monday to endure first though.

Haha! Love it! Glad that you posted your gladioli as last time you posted it, the red was so vibrant. I don't have a border to speak of. Need to plant out a lot of potted stuff later as they might all die in the pots. I just don't have the confidence of confining plants to a small pots. Already, some are in too much water after having no water and have died a miserable death!

I love the 3rd one very much. Such a neat beauty. They are like daisies, some zinnias. The one above Godetia is an osteospermum. I love it so much. I bought another one as my masses of blue ones died because of the terrible snow. It's still on the kitchen table.

You have a lot of lovely flowers. Seems to be you're trembling when taking pics. My son would be very still and tell me off whenever I move a tad.

Guess what? I have my first cosmos Cupcake. Hopefully, take a pic later.

You can take great pics. See the 3d daisy and the osteo! They are gorgeous. Remember a lady on another forum actually used her husband's tripod to take her photos! Such perfectionist. I just take 2 or 3 and that's why there are repeats.

Not only am I lacking in rain (Mr Adam Frost actually said, "It bounds to rain!" Yes, right! When all my plants have died!? You know that Godetia really have brought back fond memories. One of my first!;)

A lobelia perennial. Funny thing is that I bought tons of seeds, packets after packets. They germinated but died after a while. None made it to a proper plant. Unlike you, I am not very good at keeping seedlings alive. I had Daturas - a few of them, about 6 inches tall. Winter just killed them.:cry::cry:

Bought this red one and the pink salmon one. If you can get them in diy starting with H, buy them as they are well worth £2. One in a big tub - like 10L or at least 5 or 7L. I sat it in this huge black tub with an inch or more of water all through winter and it had millions of siblings all crowded in a pot. I took the whole thing out and tore them siblings apart, er, brutally, and put them in various tiny pot. Now I have about 6 or more of the pink ones and same for the red ones. Rarely have I seen plants able to put up with so much abuse and yet flower like princesses. I really love the red ones. I can't even add nutrients to the water as nowadays the liquid gold is straight from the tap!:cry::cry: but:LOL::LOL::LOL: for the joy they have brought me. Seriously, when you have time, go around these places on Sunday and when they are £2 in a huge pot, you really should not miss the chance. I know your devotion to seeds - a lot of anxiety and when I saw the seeds reduced to half price in my favorite nursery, I turned up my nose as it was sooooooo hot under the whole area. To sell them like this is heartless as I am 100% sure they are DEAD as dodo! Imagine the sustained heat in that greenhouse structure. Heartless!

Some repeats here, but I think this

A scentless white lily Longiflorem. As soon as I lifted its head, I saw a beetle!

:cry::cry:....no rain despite it being cloudy still.

It feels worse now as the clouds have trapped all the hot air nearer ground level ......can't bear it ..

I WANT SNOW.........NOOOOOOOW!!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Be careful of what you wish for. Look at Japan. Literally, the whole house was washed away by rain storm. I feel sorry for the Japanese. Yes, at least, it is not sun beating at the soil. I put 2 irises down to ground. It does look like it's going to rain, but alas, another terrible treacherous teaser!

We probably need snow!

Dramatic pictures reveal how Britain's heatwave is turning more reservoirs into DESERTS (including one 1,250ft high up in the Pennines)
  • Blackstone Edge Reservoir has turned into sand, sediment and grit in the wake of Britain's scorching weather
  • The mountainous temperatures normally leave the reservoir surrounded by snow during six months of year
  • But the area, on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire, has become dry and barren during past three weeks
  • Photographer Phil Taylor of Bolton, Greater Manchester, discovered the scene during a trip up to the Pennines

Yes too true, the news was terrible.:(

Snow will suffice, then it can gradually melt into the ground.......in an ideal world(y)
