I don't think some of the retail supermarkets water their plants under health and safety
concerns
Nice Lilys
@alp has the Agapanthus opened yet ?
Yes, I can imagine why they say that because of health and safety. When I went to diy store this morning, the whole place was wet and horrible looking. If someone slipped, they would be sued pants down.
Agapanthus, the Alba and Midnight Star are both terrible teasers! (I am very good at alliteration now, nearly a good rival for
@Upsy Daisy ).
@Upsy Daisy Did see some pretty ( small) Fuchsias, that just happened to follow us home!
One can never have enough fushsia. if they were not priced £3, they would follow me home too.
@Leeski If I were you, I would write a letter on the charity behalf to Aldi to see what they say. I think the suppliers take them back, so I heard.
Went to my favorite nursery and
, all the reduced Daphnes were gone. Must have gone yesterday. They were ridiculously priced. £4 for a stalk with 4 leaves on top. Of course, I held back. Er, some lucky workers must have bought them up.
In the end, I put my hand underneath a seed pod of a Dalmatian Foxglove and came home with some seeds. Considering they sold me a dead rose for a tenner, I do feel guilty at all.
@johnny canoe Different companies have very different policies. Here in this terrible heat, I anticipate massive reduction as the plants are transported in some kind of thick plastic and they are half toasted and roasted in transit!
. There are certain companies who look after their plants really well. I really love the Homebase in Chelmsford. The varieties and tidiness make it such a pleasant experience. Shame I do live there.
My bargain : 50 for a purple/blue osteospermum. Mine died because of the snow. Now we have heat to contend with. Canada is also very hot, so my son told me. Is that so,
@johnny canoe ? He mentioned Montréal!
