Well I went to a gardeners market today..not much to shout about really as its the first one for the village but it was alright, plenty of food, a few plants, the usual home produce etc etc.
Then went on to the GC...I bought a yellow form of that daisy (will get all the names tomorrow) another Phlox...more Violas, as if we didn't have enough ....3x bags of compost, 2 hanging basket liners...I'm after another Heuchera, yes, but I want a light coloured one as a contrast under a contorted bush (which is a similar colour)...I also bought some more Sweet Pea seeds having great success with these at the moment and I've just cut the tips to make them bush a little more....Tomorrow I'm going to make some little open box crates to screw to the fence and place plants (in pots) inside

The beach looks nice and your dog.

I've been to Weston super mare a few times. The sea goes right out, can't see it at all.
Barry island once, those were just day trips. Berrick upon Tweed for a weeks holiday. When the tide goes out on the Tweed there's rock formed into waves.:)

@BigC All looks very neat. I have now more pots

I had had some jiffy pellets lying around. I used to like them very much as cuttings rooted much quicker, but I had to cut the things open so that the roots wouldn't be suffocated by the mesh.

These were upstairs in a big propagator which had not been turned on, but one salvia cuttings and some dahlia cuttings went crazily tall. So now I have even more pots. I am going potty!

Shame those for camellias haven't done very well. I might pour hot water on the pellets and reuse them when they have cooled down. Shame wasting them.

Liverpool lost!! Someone throwing the game?

@Perki When should I take cornus cuttings please? I'm dying to take some cuttings from this £10 Cornus Rainbow. I am also keen on taking cutting from my Viburnum Mariesii. I have bought 2 more irises with flowers and cross-pollinated one. I would love to see what I am ending up with. Surprisingly, iris seeds germinated very fast - a lovely discovery last year!

Hello, another warm day. Been battling some mealy bugs today on some lysimachia nummularia which I despartly need for some pots I am making up , I've not had this pest before so was unsure on first sight. I sprayed them with fairy liquid then bug killer, I tried drowning them later on and now I've cleaned all the compost off and blasted them under the tap  hopefully they will all be gone.

Yesterday haul of plants , I picked up the rose lady of shallot from the GC the rest were a plant delivery from macplants, quite pleased with the size / condition of the plants. 2x monarda squaw - 1 monarda beauty of cobdam - 2x coreopsis zargreb - 1 sanguisorba lilac squirrel.

Lovely collection, Perki! I must say I felt very happy being able to go out after two weeks of locked in. Had to go out as bank holidays means foul air! How I dread bank holidays!

Depressing weekend, Hamilton didn't come first and Liverpool lost. One good thing is that lightning has switched on and I hope the rain dampens quite a few things.

Good night to all!

I wanted Rose Lady of Shalott for a while but had nowhere to put it, fortunately or unfortunately a peony hasn't performed at all in the past 3 years, I've had one flower in that time and this year its looking very weedy and behind nearly all peony I've seen. And peony's only flower for a short period unlike the rose.

Good morning to all! Last night was a violent night. The air most foul and I had to breathe through the duvet, which complicated and worsened the air quality. Came downstairs and slept on my sofa as the rumblings and lightning were half as bad here. A lot of noise and lightning which left unforgettable flashes in my eyes, but not much rain. None of the emptied butts have been filled up. Went out to check on my latest iris blooms. Edith Worford turned out to be another pure blue. One Senlac has flowered and promptly 2 slugs had already eaten 2/3 of one bloom. There is another white on blue which flowered last year.

Perki, I hope you sell your peony - a deep red and Sarah Bernhardt have numerous flowers as they are being baked in the hottest, driest parts in my garden. I can't blame you for replanting this Lady of Shallott - Too true. Peonies are like irises - flower for a very short time and do nothing and build up tons of rhizomes and tubers over the year. But I do love peonies, so I am happy to keep the one which hasn't flowered for 7 year. This year, it has a bud, but even that was eaten by slugs.

Today is another scorcher.

I'm glad to see my cosmos hasn't been eaten yet by the slugs and snails, after all the thunderstorms that we've had over night.
The thunderstorms didn't bother me, i woke up once, hubby was looking out the window. Don't know what time it was, i said to him we've got them then and went back to sleep. But i must have been thinking about the cosmos because i had a dream about them.:ROFLMAO:
