Thats a lovely one @alp ...

Evening all...we went to the beach again today with K9 en-tow once more..his wee legs are walked of him but he did well in the water...He's busted now and is fast asleep on his chair...Called into a little village on the way home..you know the one the Queen stays at when she's over (Hillsborough Castle)..and I spied some Primula vialli in the doorway of a florists shop...guess where they are now...expensive...but opportunity was not missed even though the War Department keeps reminding me of the price .....Oh and the ice cream was good also...says the guy with sunburn...OUCH!
Great day....Looking very much like thunder and Lightning here at the moment...to water the grass or not to water the grass that is the question!

Glad that War Department and you and k9 all have had a lovely day! It was very humid here even though there was no sunshine. Very uncomfortable. I have to device a way to trim down the number of pots, which is quite impossible. Primula vialli do look nice, but I like @Perki 's primula. I would love to have some Cinderella ones. But don't think I have the condition for it. I killed most of my primula auricula until I planted them in the shade and now they are going mad, like mint. Tomorrow, going to Homebase to have a look. Because of the curfew on the car, I haven't been to any nurseries for two weeks. If I see anything I like reduced, I will buy them. I won't buy any when I go to Hyde Hall flower festival as the 2L / or is it lL have not done well for me.

@BigC glad that you had a great day out.:)
Watch the sunburn.:)

Primula Vialii are nice plants, requires a rich moist soil that doesn't dry out in summer. Does well in full sun in cooler countries. Good at the side of a pond.:)

Yeah @Logan they will always remain my favourite regardless...problem is I can only keep them for a couple of seasons then I seem to loose them..must pay more attention to their needs if I'm to be somewhat successful with them. I love them and I did buy them initially for around the pond visualizing a large group en masse lol..I'll keep at it.

@johnny canoe Is he really your neighbour? How exciting! He needs some plants from you to soften the scenery though!

Good Morning all...Tis with sunshine and breeze I wake to this fine day....A visit to another GC methinks..need some compost, no point in buying just the one...and have a look at what else is on offer. Presently looking for a large white daisy plant we used to have way back in the early days when we first bought the house. Anyone know the real name for this perhaps common plant

I planted a 2 full trays of Cornflower and Aster seeds in the greenhouse and to my surprise they have all germinated rather quickly so I'm hoping to harden these off over the comming weeks..The ones I have outside are doing really well also and perhaps they may be ready to go in the dirt in a week or so...Might look for another creeping Phlox today or another Heuchera variant. see what happens lol

Phlox and heurchera are good assets in a garden. Heurcheras are especially tough and go without freezing snow and baking hot sun and terrible droughts. They come back beautifully these year. Creeping phloxes are most classy and have refined details - amazing beauties and exquisite petal shape in such a tiny flowers.

It rained when we went out. Been to Chelmsford to look at a house. Going into Chelmsford is just such a memorable and romantic drive - straight road with mature trees and meadows on both sides. Until we arrived at the town centre - my headache appeared and when we looked at the house, it turned into a migraine.

Thankfully, a trip to Plants Outlet made it up. I was after an olive. Very chaotic, but £7.99 with a bit of a trim, it would be an heirloom to grandchildren (ah, I so want them!) After that, a trip to my favorite nursery has made the day feel like a honeymoon - got a cornus rainbow (6 foot tall) for a £10. Son showed me the AGM

Then I bought 2 oriental poppies for £1 each and a stipa gigantea for £6.99. I nearly bought a euphorbia silver fog for £1.99. But my friend said I had an excessive amount of plants. Coming from a crazy plant lover, that reined me in a bit. Finally, I bought a blueberry Sunshine Blue for £3.99. £4 cheaper than before and with fruits! The only thing that has marred the day has been the oppressing heat!
