Thanks guys for your comments..Just back from the Apothecary..The doc has put me on a permanent dose of Statins because he said that the cholesterol levels have not been comming down over the years and he wants to play safe as far as my long term health is concerned.....So thats another bloody tablet for the forseeable :(...
Anyway he also said that diet would not bring these figures down alone hence the script...I am fairly active not overly overweight a long way from being obese, to which he replied that skinny people can have high cholesterol...so that was a piece of new information to me...Well it is what it is...but I'm still having the odd fry up here and there...just dont tell the wife

I bought about six pair of summer shorts two summers ago, they all fit and some were a bit big. I was horrified last summer as only one pair fit. I've dropped 16 pounds in the past couple months and yesterday was pleased that I could wiggle back into two. I will not stop until I can use all six pair again.

It's not that easy, @johnny canoe ! You need to do some all round exercises. Apparently, biking is good, but not so good as stretching your body. I have given up on watching my weight. My biggest sin is after lunch, I will fall asleep on CBS Reality or associated channels. I have an active morbid interest on how low people can go and yet I always fall asleep. I am very worried that I have exhausted all the crime stories. That was the reason I stopped subscribing to the TV licence as at that point, I could still watch programmes on the BBC. By the way, The Split has been very exciting! Well, I haven't fallen asleep. Love it.

@BigC You're not going to lose weight sitting on those stool, whishing your Guinness or vino! They are full of sugar. Switch to having pak choi and salad after a good bowl of oats with nuts on top will be better.
Johnny - Bon courage. I will sit up next time I watch gruesome crime stories.

The garden is very slow. I have taken numerous cuttings and bought 3 irises and another Viburnum Mariesii for £3.60 reduced to a skeleton.

Camassias! Not half as spectacular as Perki's, but they are mine a blue, a white and a pink

Hopefully, it will be better next year when they are planted together. At the moment, they are all in pots.

My favorite cistus

My latest aquisition is a fairly large Phlox..sky blue in colour for the front of a border patch in the hope that it will spread...GC was a brilliant place but owners/staff very ignorant which was a shame...Perhaps because we only spent £6 on one plant...The War Dept is busy doing the hanging baskets as the dwarf Daffs are now spent being replaced with violas of all things..lol...Pics of the Phlox later..I was going to divide it but doing a little RHS research I've decided against it at this time of year.So I'll dig it in as a full plant...Flippin Heck..I knew Lupins were popular this year but not £15 popular...I'll stick with seeds thank you very much although they were beautiful colours...Its bloomin marvelous here in ultra sunny NI @alp wish you were here hahahahahahahaha...Sooooo many flowers...soooo little money ....usual scenario....one plant at a time.hehehe...Well off to the coast tomorrow for a day out to relax..taking the dog with us for a paddle should be great fun..Hope the weather holds

Every day i weigh myself and write it down. If a get say 9st 12lbs about 3 times in a week, i take that as my right weight for that week and write it on another piece of paper, along with my measurements.

On a Friday when we have dinner, we both have 2 eggs, baked beans and oven chips. On the Saturday i weigh myself and i'm 1lb lighter than the rest.

Saturday is the worst when i eat a lot of bread.

It's got a lot better after going through the menopause.

@BigC Just stick to seeds. Some plants are very easy to germinate and save a real packet. £15 is robbery. A packet of seeds costs very little and sometimes you can have a plant for years from them.

Just watching Chelsea - so many repeats and so much waffling .. That M and G garden got a gold because the show is being sponsored by M and G and that garden makes me want to cry, so dry and oppressive and unforgiving.

BigC - you're right. Shouldn't have taken on the set of teak set. Too much to do.

It been another lovely day, bit chilly this morning.

Popped to the GC when I finished work on the bike, wanted a fuchsia coral but sold out there as well so got a different fuchsia instead. Got a chempak high potassium feed instead of tomorite what I usually buy, I should get a lot more feed out of the chempak than 6 and half 1litre bottle of tomorite, hopefully its better as well, I get back with results later on in the year.

I said I'll take some cutting from my dahlia's for somebody so took a few which were suitable. Emptied pots from failed or poor germination and give the big propagator a shower and packed up, took the wall paper table down as well upstairs, think I'll plant the tomatoes tomorrow :) Think I'll start my foxgloves - wallflowers a bit earlier this year, they never get big enough to flower on time.
