£5 for 8 is quite dear! I have found out that some nursery i.e. Summerhill, charged double for the shallot Longor. When Longor was reduced, it was £1.49 whereas it was sold in Thurrock GC for £1.49 neat. Just tell you. You really have to keep your wit about. A nice introduction to the tulip for us and a feast for our eyes, @Perki ! Suddenly, I realised the word Perky could sound very smutty! LOL when a presenter said the plants looked very perky!:LOL:

Good morning to a very cold, windy and grey day. I hope it's going to rain.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away"

Mornin Folks...what a glorious day...cant wait to get out there...but first my bowl of Trill (Budgie Food)
@Perki your garden is amazing and I could spend hours in that greenhouse alone. mine is so sparse by comparison at least until the tomatoes take over..The Yorkshire Garden at Chelsea was something special as was the Japanese which I will always love....but yes Lupins Lupins Lupins everywhere..I'm playing catchup and have a few seedlings now lol....Interesting to note how much these are in the GC..something I thought would be a fairly cheap plant are rather expensive....I will plant loads of these seeds much earlier next year I think

Pic 4 @Perki in your sequence ..can you name the plants for me please especially the white stringy one..many thanks

Well, it's better to have Trill than heart attack. I am now taking half an aspirin a day. We are rather cool and dull here. What a respite. Thank heavens. Can't abide by the hot sun. Went out to the back to water some very dried up gaura. My £1 bargain white one has died. Must buy one. Going to take a lot of salvia cuttings. The thing I about salvia is that they are little fighters and even though one long stem has died, soon, there will be some poking out at the same spot. Now that's what I like about this plant. A bit of resilience and fighting spirit!

BigC - Keep the sun and let me have a rest for 3 or 4 days as we will have 24c and my plants will all like shrivelled.

By dead heading the Salvia do you mean wait until all the purple has gone from a spire or before?

Good that you're having a sunny day today @BigC

Trill food is better for you. :)
My brother and his wife are vegetarian, i'm not.I went to stay with them for a week and i had the food that they had. The one day his wife cooked millet rissoles and a soya bean bake, they were great, a lot better than i thought.

Morning all another dull and cool day same as yesterday,@Bigc Porridge
One particular fibre found only in oats — called beta-glucan — has already been credited with lowering cholesterol which can help protect against heart disease. ... Previous studies have suggested that the fibre contained in porridge can reduce cholesterol levels by as much as 23%.
