The 40p bottle of seeds - a real bargain.

There is a terrible chill in the air. I wish I could sit on top of the radiator.

Here is Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I went out to work for 3 and a half hour and was so hot that I came in in short sleeve summer top. Then fell asleep and now I'm frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeing! Wish I had underfloor heating. Radiators are pretty useless. Haven't done any seed sowing. If I am that cold, what is the point of sowing the seeds?

Don't you get depressed when it's raining all the time in Ireland, @BigC ?

I've felt cold all day ,despite putting the heating back on. I think that the dampness is adding to the chill effect. Everywhere is just....... wet!!!:(:(

Zinnias that WERE doing well have now died on me . Given up waiting for the Cleome to germinate , although one small pot has a couple coming through. And my herbs are absolutely a no show as well ...never had soooooo many failures:cry::cry:
Going to start again tomorrow with fresh sowings, hopefully as the weather is set to improve I may experience some success...fingers crossed ( and other crossable body parts too;))

Strange that! When I was working out in the front flat out, I was very hot. Came in, fell asleep after the banana curse and felt freezing. The feet were the worst. Even though I am sitting next to the radiator, I just feel the chill and this is even after the meal. Need to top up clothes. We have had no rain after 8am. It's all very dry and the sun came out for 5 minutes earlier and @MaryMary 's fanfare was not enough to sustain the shy sunshine which vanished in no time.

Sorry that you have had to put up with the wet. We have no wet, but the garden is terribly slippery. Move a rose to the front and hopefully, it will grow tall enough to cover next door's foul air vent.

I will seed something tomorrow as there will be a bit of sun (should I trust them again?) Those plants that I have bought are very small. Basically, 8 inch tall stems. ONE stem only, but he doubled up and gave me two of everything. So instead of 3 plants, I have got six. But I really love the viburnum picatum Mariesii as it has tons of buds.. Shame I didn't see the owner in Plants outlets where I bought the viburnum and couldn't ask anybody if they had those that I bought. These are £6.50 and it will be at least next year if I can see any flower. Some of these plants are really small, but they are simply not easy to source.

We haven't actually had rain today ...yipee! , but it's remained dismally grey and the ground is so wet and claggy that it makes the atmosphere damp.

We still have a little stream running along the dip in our lane which is caused by the high water table:( Tomorrow we have ( quote from BBC website) Mist and breezy!!!!
Loooooooovely:(

I'm going to do a lot of re sowing ,although those in the greenhouse are doing OK. And a mass direct sowing spree as well. I am determined not to be beaten by this weather.... I will have flowers!!:)(y)

You've done well with those plants, they may be small now but they will soon grow.....6 too! :):)

I think we will have more luck direct sowing now that the weather has warmed up. Next nemeses are the SS brigade. This morning, I killed 3 inside my lean-to. I was so pleased to see the viburnum mariesii going for under £8. You won't be able to find it in Wyevale. can't believe they say it will be 24c. Radiator is on, but it's so chilly around my feet. Is Monty not on yet?

We are supposed to have a bit of sun tomorrow. Last week, it was so uncomfortable inside the car when the sun was out - it was so hot. Now we have nowhere to go as we more or less have memorised all the stocks in various nurseries and they have had no new intakes.

Forgot GW is on, will catch it later on IPlayer. Master Chef final has just started, don't usually follow it that closely but this year they are all amazing. The final 3 are all brilliant ,it's going to be so hard to select a winner.

I am dreading the battle with the S and S. Heart breaking to see them devouring the plants:cry:

Yes ,hopefully the warmer temps will help germination, I have been madly collecting bottles and milk containers to cut in half and protect the direct sowings with .

I bet they all know you at the nurseries now, you must be a very welcomed customer.:)
