Didn't do any Gardening today, wet and cold. So did a bit of housework, not a lot. I was cleaning some of the paint work in the kitchen, when the boys come in wet they shake themselves and get splashes all over. Most of the time I put a bathroom towel over their backs to stop them, but Barley takes me by surprise and shake when i don't expect it. When I have to stoop down a lot I get numbness in my legs. I've had it for years and I know it's my back. Sometimes I'm ok but if i over do it starts to play up.
Might empty one of the compost bins tomorrow, it should be better. Hubby got 2 big trailing fucshias from morissons for £1. each, and in a proper pot. I've run out of compost and bit worried that i might have to put them in pots but no.

Yes! We miss the sunshine. Your garden was gorgeous.

@Logan That's what we call old age. numbness or torn muscle. Careful how you go.

I am going to remove another compost bin tomorrow, just like you suggested.

Yes this ageing marlarky isn't much fun is it :( .Suffered for years with back and arthritis problems and it only gets worse as we age:cry:. Have been particularly bad lately but I have put it down to all the rain we have had ....dampness/ moisture in the air plays havoc with all my joints , wouldn't survive up there where @Colin lives !!

I bet it hurt like hell @BigC.:(:(
My brother has fused ankles and I have fusions in both feet, but ours are due to arthritis. Have to say that my 2nd foot fusion ,which was done just over a year ago, is still causing me problems especially during this damp weather. But hey the Sun's warmth will soon be with us:)(y)

Now that we are showing our squeamish pics, I should post mine from 5 yrs ago. Shingles on my face, I looked like a monster and couldn't see out of one eye for two weeks.
I said to alp I was going to stay off my bike but I couldn't. I was down at the fish hatchery this morning feeding birds. Had a dizzy spell down there but have been good since. Sore if I stretch too far, but I think I am mending quick. I promise to go get checked if I don't continue to improve. It's hard for me though, I haven't seen a doctor in over 30 yrs.

Thanks for asking after me.

Morning all..Sorry for the pic it wasn't meant for folks to show sympathy towards me in any way but rather as a stark reminder to myself on how far I'd come mobility wise, it was a long journey hooked on mind numbing drugs and I'm so thankful to to be able to garden now and its this that gives me some solitude and release from being bed ridden most of the day to enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature again..something I took for granted..the often unsung hero in all of this is the surgeon who sometimes can be quickly forgotten to whom I owe a sense of gratitude ...I still have loads of metalwork inside of me hahahaha and as @Upsy Daisy says it is probably prone to barometric pressure and can predict the weather :) Johnny if I remember correctly you can feed the birds by hand..have you got any more pictures of this..I used to love seeing those....

Sadly getting old is not an option @Logan...we all have 24 hours in our day and its how we use those 24 precious hours to enrich and enlighten our lives...We can learn from the older generation only if we care to listen.

That's true, I don't let it get to me and apart from my back that has been like it for over 10 years, I don't feel old. I think there's always someone worse off than me.

Yes, but I have detected a bit of improvement in fingers in my left hand. So it's definitely warming it, but please, do HURRY up!

12th April and the heating is still on. How sad!

Going to weed the front and prepare bed after various bonfire. Have another one tonight. Going to broadcast the wildflower seeds today as the temperature is going to climb up.

Good morning!
A tad grey outside again....fingers crossed for some improvement during the course of the day.
Off to pay my Dad a quick visit and to take some Geraniums over to him.
Then I plan to plant out my Sweet Williams that were sown last summer.
Continuing to plant self sown Primroses as they open their blooms ( have loads of yellow ones , so only really wanting the other colours)

Have a good day everyone!:)
