Good morning to a quieter day!

It's very very cold. Had to be careful on the pavement. Even though it felt crunchy, i walked on the snow on the side of where the people walked and compacted it. Hubby was going to do his invidulation at studly high school, he decided not to go but he had a email saying that it was closed. He was going to try and go, but i talked him out of it. All have a good day.

Yes, Logan - the snow was very crunchy and it was as if I were talking on icy sheets. I could hear the crunch .. Lean to was still covered with snow and it was cold last night.

Loads of schools are closed today. As we are not used to snow, we don't have the investment in place to combat the negative impacts of snow and hence every few years, a heavy snow like this plunges the country into inactivity. Glad that the exam is cancelled. Worrying to have to drive with 8 inches of snow yesterday. Don't you think? Glad that you don't have to worry now.

Yes thanks, alp. Have you got any fleece that you could cover your plants with? I put a lot of fleece over my plants in my small lean-to greenhouse. I've also put small containers full of water in there.

Morning all very cold Icy and a slight covering of snow but sunny ,was due to visit my mam in Yorkshire she's 90 will wait until weather improves I've had my orders from her for us not to travel in this weather!

Quite right, your mum. I wouldn't want anyone to visit me in Yorkshire in this dreadful weather. Hope you can see you when things calm down a bit. Can't believe how cold it has been here and that's far south.

@Logan I have draped some packaging materials over the plants inside the lean to and had had 2 candles burning (pathetic effect) in the lean-to. Was so scared that I slept in the living room. Not so cold now.

Wow! I couldn't believe my eyes. That's lovely and so close! Gee.. What can I DO to entice them into my garden?? Need to buy some fresh Nyger seeds..

Well done! I wish I hadn't put mine out and now they might be frozen to death... I have a plastic sheet over them.. But really I should've left them indoors.
