2 hours of solid work in the back gardening, tidying up everything. Only 1/5 job done. Tonight, stuff will be burnt at the back.

Wonder when to fertlise amaryllis. Somehow mine all have leaves. I chopped them off and put them in the west facing window and hopefully, there might be some flowers to enjoy.

Feed after flowering. Did they die down?
Sometimes they don't flower and if you let them form seed that will take it out of them. I wouldn't have cut the leaves off,it won't make them flower. Best to feed them now and wait for next year for flowers.:)

The five of us (me and four cats) managed to clean out the broccoli bed, add composted chicken manure, and rake the bed smooth. How long it stays smooth with kitty paws trotting through is problematic.
However, the bed is now ready for planting lettuces. I've explained to the cats that the raised beds are off-limits, but cats don't listen:(.

Dead envious @alp......beautiful blooms ! :)

Thank you, Upsy!

Could have been very nice if the slugs didn't devour the flowers first. 2 of them deflowered after waiting for one whole year. Saw some new ones last weekend. Next week I might buy some.

I hate slugs, too. I trod on one on my carpet in the living room. One went up the wall in the kitchen. One stuck to the airvent on the top of the French door in the lean to. They are omnipresent evil!

Haha! I was saying to myself, "Who would admit that they had slugs crawling around on their carpet!?"

Now, we are sister in shame! Hahaha! I guess it can't be helped. Once you have a plant in the house, all sorts of things can crawl out at night. A Christmas tree with tons of pins of the carpet and lots of slivery trails on the walls:eek::LOL:. Never again!

Logan: By the look of it, I won't have any amaryllis flower this year.
