@Mark56 Wherever I go, i see masses of red and yellow berries and I really need them. Not that it will deter nasties. Some nasties turned my elderly neighbour's water butt on the top of my fence. Initially, it was only the top pipe going into the slim butt which was fiddled with. Then the butt is now 60 on top on my dwarf wall.

But my back garden is like an open book, so yes, I do think pyranthus is a good choice. Look lovely in winter. I wonder if they all have masses of berries. They are so good looking now in the great depth of winter.

Mark: If you go to a specialist nursery, look out for snowdrops now. I saw a Polar Bear and a Beluga for £5 a pot on Sunday, but as they weren't even open, I couldn't see the markings, so I didn't buy them. I want to cross pollinate them, just to mess around.

Have a look and take some photos please.

You can tell that Logan is a creature of habits!:D:LOL:

Amaryllis takes up a lot of room indoors. I don't think I will have any flower this year.

Good morning to all to a very dark morning. Supposed to be the warmest day of the week, but it is nearly 7am and it's still very dark. Going to dig up the planted area at the back when it's not raining and see if I can buy the pyranthus still. There were quite a few in A13 diy store. Will phone before I go. Quite a journey!

Yes still dark here. Pyracantha is very nice for the birds and bees. Got some round the side of the house, against the wall to stop people from climbing over. There's horthorn on the other side of the back wall that the council planted. But it doesn't flower because it's always trimmed once a year.

No way to stop nasties traversing our gardens here.

Went to gc and here are some photos to while away our winter watery weather:

If you see the Celebration in real life, you might love that too. I am waiting for my parcel and the winds are just terrifying. Can appreciate what you have to put up with last night. Have to go down the road to take some cuttings for pyracanthus. There were so many, begging to be bought last Wednesday!:cry::cry:
