Hi,

Wish it was the same here! I watered on area, had another look, the soil was dry again. So I watered it again and after that I told myself NOT TO LOOK AT THE SAME PATCH AGAIN as it would be dry AGAIN!

Given our rainfall alp I would expect our garden to be soaking wet to a good depth but due to the steepness of the garden most of the rain simply runs away as surface water; I've been digging and it's surprising how dry the ground is just under the surface.

Frost here for a change but then the BBC weather lot have been forecasting frost so were sure to eventually get it right. It's bordering on freezing at the moment but will hit 3C later; I hope to do more digging but the way the temperature is dropping I might need to use my big SDS drill in chisel mode rather than my spade.

It's been really bitterly cold today but sunny.tonight 0 c. In the next hour might get a snow shower.

oh my, it is winter our day was only 11 hours and 3 minutes (30 seconds shorter than yesterday). The high temp was 31 C (90 F) but the low is going to be chilly biscuits 16 C (61 F) egads!

It's officially winter.

16c for winter is bliss, BLISS!
