Hi Colin,
I know just what your saying, ive managed to do a cut on two sections of the garden lawns,
ie we've the orchard and the main lawn and then part by the pool, this section you can't get the big boys toy onto
And just as i was hoping to get the push mower out to do the places the ride-on can't get to without doing half a dozen takes
ie around tree bases (these are cut out in circles and full of plants) and the corners of the lawn, And what happens 'visitor's arrive
And (she who must be obeyed) starts screaming for me to come in and say hello, As i enter the kitchen im told to go and get a few tomato plants and take my time as its womens talk, (the visitor was intears)
So off i go and select 6 potted and ready to go in the garden tom plants, 3 russian dark skins and 3 beefeater, and then it started to rain,
After about 20mins i called back into the kitchen (but my ear's recieve the whisper "Ann's very upset" so watch what you say" finger in my rip cage,
Hi Ann how's the family ? arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Said the wrong thing her partner has left her for another,
So as you can see im in the office watching the rain and not sure if im getting any dinner tonight.
You know Colin when i was in the Army i thought i'd do my 22years and stay single and get a cottage away from any humans "Have a dog" and live the life of peace,
So i can see what you mean ref changes both in the weather and plans.
PS i feel a poem coming on.
Alone again
Im older now and on my own,
I live in a remote part of wales, just me, my dog and a phone.
I never see people from day to day unless I go to my nearest village seven miles away.
Most times in the winter I have no phone, the wind blows the cables down and thats when I feel really alone.
It's handy having the phone for doctors/vet and hoping maybe a wrong number I might just get.
I call to ask if there's any mail for me as im always home.
I feed the wild birds no matter how the weather has arrived,
the blue tit's and sparrows are in the hedge (I like to think i keep them alive)
They come and feast most all of the day and the tables empty by darkest time of the day
I wake in the morning thanks to natures clock,
Two rooks tapping on the empty wooden bird feeder every day spot on 8 o'clock
they're shy and dont like much fuss "but they come to visit my dog sam" yes the two of us.
Despite winters harsh nights and day I would'nt want to change my life for city life and company "No way"
There's no waste in any shape or form everythings used even when it's worn.
All my food is good, proper grub, that not only fills you up but its full of protein that does you good.
Yes, Ive a small cottage that sits alone,
It's painted white and it's got a phone.
