The weather has done a number on the southern tier of states this weekend. Tornadoes, lightning, high winds and heavy rain have accounted for 14 deaths and several people missing. This storm snuck up on us. The weather service predicted some rain and wind but evidently no one saw this coming.

Hi,

Fortunately we don't suffer tornados on the scale or quantity you suffer in America Silentrunning we usually just suffer poor weather the year round. We do experience plenty of floods.

My deepest sympathies go out to the victims and their families in such tragic times.

Kind regards, Colin.

23 dead from storms in the state yesterday. I feel so bad for those folks in Lee county. Debris balls were showing up on radar. Its horrifying. Last year 10 people died in the USA from Tornado. We more than doubled that morbid statistic on one day.

Hi,

We do have a occasional tornado.:)

I agree Logan but I think our tornados are more like whirlwinds when compared to the ferocious tornados suffered in America although I'm not complaining. We do also have the odd earthquake. :)

We've just returned from Meadowhall shopping centre only 23 miles distant from us; 10.5C at Meadowhall; two miles from home very heavy rain and 3.5C; what fun we enjoy here on our valley side; I can hardly contain myself with happiness and joy.

Kind regards, Colin.

Still getting gale force winds and heavy rain showers, got caught in one walking the boys.

Yesterday had trouble with my smart phone, the battery was no more wouldn't charge. So couldn't come on here for most of the day. Could have tried to get the battery replaced but it's tricky, so had a new one. Got one from Argos for £370.It's a lot better than the old one, hubby had to set it up of course.:)

We got an extra 6 inches overnight. Sunny now. my good neighbor used his snow blower and did our long drive and down at the bottom where the street plow just rolls it up higher there. just shoveled off the deck, 2nd time in 3 days. suppose to be 7 degrees this week. March in like a lion going out like a lamb.

A tip I read about concerning batteries that wouldn't charge Logan is to place the battery in a freezer for 30 minutes then it should charge OK; I'm unsure if it works with a phone but it worked with my camera battery?

I recently spent three days in total frustration because of a mobile phone; on the third day I found a solution seen below. It worked for me and did me the world of good. :)

Kind regards, Colin.
