Hi,

Thanks Logan; for those who are dedicated followers of fashion then the sheet could be colour matched to the car. :D

They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; most of our neighbours get someone in even down to changing a blown light bulb; our immediate neighbour has Morrison's deliver her weekly shopping at 10pm; has a bungalow cleaner; has a gardener; has a window cleaner; she's up the east coast on a walking holiday this week and she has many foreign holidays when she's not playing golf; it's her choice and her retirement; other neighbours are similar; Bron and I get our exercise around home enjoying what we do and get pleasure from our own effort. Each to their own though.

Frosty start and cold but set for another glorious day by the look of it.

Above is because this year we spent £600 on cross climate tyres in readiness for the usual winter weather. :)

On Saturday it's Rufforth Auto Jumble once again so because I want to attend here's the forecast;

50276

Lovely weather until Saturday; typical of my bad luck; I won't be attending because the jumble is on an exposed WW2 airfield and even inside the huge hanger it can be bitterly cold; never mind the April jumble might be snowed in?

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi Colin, there's a lot of people around here who go on holiday, but we never go it's a lot of hassle getting ready then wait at the airport. We just rather stay at home with the dogs.

Your neaghbour must have a lot of money to do that and i wonder what they do with their time.

Lovely day now and it's warmed up a lot.

There's a brook where i walk the boys and the houses were built right on the bank of it.
Now the council are making a pond to take away all the flood water from the houses.
If they thought it through they wouldn't have to do it.

Hi,

Our neighbours go on expensive foreign holidays Logan even round the world cruises; if I were to go on a similar cruise there would be a splash as I jumped overboard through total boredom; the only alternative would for me to spend the entire time in the engine room. Like you Bron and I never go on holiday our last holiday 41 years ago and we've no desire to run away from home. We have friends who endure airport searches etc and hold ups at airports; planning and packing for the holiday then returning home to pick up on their dreary lives rather than they getting something interesting to do as we do and you too do. It's their choice but not our way of life.

Yesterday up the mountain bagging up leaves and other winter debris in wonderful warm sunshine with Soots the black cat who loves to join me and a bee busily buzzing around; it was truly gorgeous and I couldn't have been in a better place all free of charge and absolutely no hassle. I've just returned from the tip having now disposed of all the debris so our gardens are tidier than they've ever been.

We also laugh at our neighbours trying to beat each other; expensive holidays; home extensions and flash cars etc; who really cares because such things don't impress us in the least it's all just show; if I do something then they have to copy thinking they must be missing out; Bron and I do everything around home saving a fortune on labour allowing us to purchase top quality materials like Benjamin Moore paint at £82.50 per US gallon; neighbours just get the decorators in who will slap on trade paint or even less quality; they think because they spend a lot they are getting value when we simply shop around. When we moved here 32 years ago we had a new Citroen 2CV whilst neighbours had big flash cars; it's still the same no change but at the moment we have a Yeti with 18,000 miles on its clock.

Houses are being built on flood plains which is stupidity; they aren't even built on piers to lift them above the flood water level common sense is a thing of the past. I hope the brook doesn't impact on your life Logan otherwise Barley and Berry will have wet paws.

It's another gorgeous day here; global warming has at last reached Yorkshire. :D

Kind regards, Colin.

Thanks Colin no we'll be alright, in the past they had to do things to stop the paths from flooding. They raised a path and put a very wide pipe in and changed a bridge so that it would flow better.

It was all farm land here and when they built the industrial estate there were brooks that they filled in and woodland that they built on.
It upsets me when they do that but i know it has to be done.

Hi,

You'll be pleased not to have a flood risk Logan. :)

Proposals for lots of new houses has been submitted locally and all the locals are up in arms; one guy asked if I would sign a petition against the plans and I asked him if he lived up a tree or in a cave; I further said I won't be an hypocrite because Bron and I live in a bungalow that once was a field so no objections from me. One thing I'm dead against is social housing; it should be called anti-social housing because all the crackheads and alcoholics are housed free of charge at everyone else's expense. Just watch an episode of "Police Interceptors" to see people behaving worse than any animal.

It's a lot cooler here today and has rained overnight so Blackie is back from his vacation and will be here over the next few days joined by his sister Gale giving us a moderate breeze. I'm going to make the most of this weather though it being ideal to go over the grass raking out all the debris then I can add new grass seed; I've also just bought a big box of wildflower mix; more wild flower mix is due through the post; we have decent sized areas we would like to turn into wild flower gardens; a plant which thrives here against all odds is Snow in Summer (Cerastium) and we are expecting over 2,000 of these seeds; having finally completed the bungalow and all the heavy jobs we can now concentrate on the gardens. :D

Kind regards, Colin.

Thank you Colin, your garden is going to look great with all the seeds that you ordered.

Well we can't object to housing it's how it is.

On my walk with Berry I went and had a look to see what they're doing with the Brook, they're going to make a wildlife reserve with ponds and taking the water away from the houses.
They were digging yesterday what looked like a ditch but it's to channel the water. The man said when they were digging they found a lot of gravel which looked as if there was a river 100s of years ago.
There was a clipboard with the plans on it leaning against the barrier, it will be very interesting when they finish it.

Hi,

Similar weather here today Logan. It's Rufforth Auto Jumble day today and normally I'd be keen to attend but the forecast was light rain and gentle breeze; on the exposed WW2 airfield I don't think Blackie understands light rain nor his sister Gale a gentle breeze; I've attended years ago in driving rain where the kiosk has been surround with 4" deep water so sadly I've given it a miss this morning; I'm sure I needed urgent items that I wouldn't know about until at Rufforth? It's like a candy store to a child each time I visit. :D

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Gale has tried her best to remove our bungalow from the valley side over the last two nights; if this was the moderate breeze forecast it's a good job it wasn't forecast windy; I wonder if the seeds I've sown will still be on the ground; I should really have nailed them down.

5C this morning but feels a great deal colder due to the perishing breeze; looks like another gardenless day for today. :(

Kind regards, Colin.
