Colin that's great, your so clever.
My mother used to have extended warranty on washing machines for 5 years and yes after the 5 years it would break down. All she would do is get a new one, dad couldn't do what you do, but he was good at electrics and carpentry.
She thought that it was cheaper to buy a new one than to get it fixed.logan

Hi,

Thanks Logan; :) there's so much money around these days few people are encouraged to make do and mend as we had to 50 years ago when I started learning the skills; we are now in a disposable mentality; it's totally wrong when such a small thing as a failed circuit board makes it more economical to buy an entire new machine than to repair; I think greed now rules more than ever. I'm now heading into the sanctuary of my workshop. (y)

Fancy an Easter egg?

Hi,

Dark and cold here too; Bron and I are about to set off to Meadowhall; M&S opens at 9 o'clock and we want to be in and out before the crowds arrive; we like to walk around stores not be carried around; 30 minutes each way down the M1 so a nice little trip out. It's spoil Bron day today. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Thanks DirtMechanic. (y)

Many years ago I cracked the present code regarding what to buy for Bron; I just give her a wad of cash and ask where she would like to go; it's usually M&S in either Pudsey or Meadowhall but can also be The Range or Boundary Mills; I never forget birthday card; Valentine card or anniversary card; I've just visited the post office and withdrawn more cash because it's Bron's birthday in a few days; we've been to M&S in Meadowhall this morning but for once Bron found the store uninteresting and actually bought nothing for herself; it looks like a trip over to Boundary Mills in Colne is imminent; I don't care because Bron spoils me all year so I'm always there for her and I never tire of her company; I love her to bits. :):):)

I do the supermarket shopping twice weekly visiting three local supermarkets; I'm always on the lookout for little presents for Bron like card making materials or even something simple like big envelopes for the cards she makes; when I visit the post office I usually stop on the way home at our local village store and buy Bron a girlie mag; we've not had an holiday away from home in the last 41 years; we're happy being together wherever we are; it saddens me when I hear guys calling their wife/partner derogatory names; marriage is two people who should look out for each other but then we're old fashioned and when we married we married for life; the best two things I've ever done were to marry Bron and to walk down the works yard for the last time when I retired.

Marriage isn't made in heaven it's made between two people. Go on DirtMechanic spoil your Becky rotten all year round and be proud of her; it's well worth it. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Our weather is crummy today--rain, wind, and chilly. Any trip outside involves puddle jumping! The cats are grumping in their shelter, the hens are not happy because they can't go outside, and I'm baking bread. At least one of us is happy! My darling husband is catching up on small repairs around the house, things that weren't urgent and got put off until after the holidays.
Perhaps we need a crummy day occasionally . . . .

Hi,

Many thanks for your kind comment DirtMechanic. (y):)

If you lived here in West Yorkshire marlingardner you'd be guaranteed plenty of crummy days so your small jobs would be sorted as soon as they popped up. :)

Thanks Logan; good on you and your husband; isn't it strange how very few praise their partner being mostly just the opposite? Perhaps guys think it makes them look big in front of their chums when they call their wife/partner names; I'm never ashamed to admit my feelings in public for my lovely Bron as I bet you do about your hubby too.

Bitterly cold here today and still gloomy but fine; BRRRRRRRR. I'm just having a brew then I'll wander into the workshop to hide away from this nasty world; lots more shootings in Huddersfield which is on the increase. We'd move but it appears the UK is now riddled with serious crime. :(

Kind regards, Colin.

Colin, I thought guns were banned.. How can you have all these shootings? Makes me feel so badly for you to have to hide out...Although I like the idea of a brew and hideout...
