Last Saturday, I said:

The forecast for the week - more snow on Monday, and we won't get above freezing 'til next Friday. On a positive note...maybe I'll get a picture of a pretty "snow-covered something" for the Picture of the Month thread. :ROFLMAO:

Friday there is a predicted high of 36F, Saturday's high 44F, and Sunday we'll have a heatwave... 52F!!

We got another inch of snow last night, they are predicting an accumulation of an inch through the day, and less than an inch of snowfall overnight tonight. I have decided to be optimistic that maybe this time I can find a pretty "snow-covered something" for the Picture of the Month thread. Last time, the wind whipped through, and blew the snow off of everything.

It is currently 14F. (-10C)

We were transported to London overnight! We have dense fog--so foggy we can't see our pond or the house down the hill, and there is no traffic on our road. The temperature is mid-30's, but our ever-cheerful weather announcer is predicting freezing rain for tonight. Luckily he is wrong more often than he's right.

MaryMary, this is what dawn looked like this morning--more like the Great Grimpen Mire than London!
The fog has pretty well lifted by now, and I sincerely hope it doesn't return.

The world's coldest village: Siberian outpost reaches near-record cold temperatures as thermometer BREAKS after recording minus 62C
  • The digital thermometer was installed to help Oymyakon market itself to tourists but gave up the ghost
  • The village is home to 500 hardy people and was a stopover for reindeer herders in the 1920s and 1930s

Hi,

What a gorgeous picture marlingardner; thanks for sharing it. (y):)

I've been without Internet or email for the last two days so am trying to catch up.

Gale was here in force last night trying to remove the bungalow from the valley side whilst Blackie did his best to float the bungalow away; it's been a truly awful day all day here with lots of rain but then it doesn't surprise me; I've missed laughing at the forecast for a couple of days though. :D

White mascara makes a change alp.

Kind regards, Colin.

@Colin Yes, white mascara might even catch on.

I am sure Gale and Blackie will visit you soon. Tomorrow's going to be fine day here. I am going to fine-tune the paths and clear the warmest patch in my garden.

Hi,

Thanks alp; I can't get rid of Gale or Blackie; I've offered them up for adoption but they just cling on to me.

The rain has come down today; I'm glad Bron and I don't live at the valley bottom.

Kind regards, Colin.

Seems to be so callous to laugh.. But I've got the gist!

That is so sad and when Oprah was surveying the change, I said that thank heavens she had the means to right the wrong..

Here in Essex, I'm more worried about the winds which have become more and more ferocious!

It's now 6 and will rise to a glorious 7c and down to 3 tonight. Going to be cold.............

But with 3 or 4 hours of sunshine. Going to be lovely!
