Can I adopt you, @Verdun ? I don't have any uncle here! :p:LOL:;) Can do with one! Especially one who's an expert with plants!!!! and knowledge. Remember, everyone, I AM THE FIRST ONE IN THE ADOPTION QUEUE! :p:D:LOL:

Good idea to plant anything before rain sets in as the moisture in the soil will give the plants a good kick .. The plants will enjoy such a good send off!

Thanks Alp, Daisy. Yes i slept well. Not going to do so much today, sit at table and cut veg. It's still raining, OH fed up with drying the boys when they come back. Think it's going to rain all day. We were going to get another water butt, got forgotten about when i did my leg.

Best is to get it day. Or just a big bucket. Much cheaper! I have used all my flexitubs and all the horse manure has to go anywhere I can find! Desperate, the drought was horrendous for my plants. My yellow geums wilt from drought and heat and this morning the blue iris - the new one, collapsed onto the floor with 2 more flowers!

Hi there @Verdun , how was your walk?:)

Oh @alp I do feel sorry for you , you've tried soooooooo hard to look after all your lovely plants during this prolonged dry spell, keeping fingers crossed that it will be OK now that you finally have some rain.:)(y)

Do you think the smell is coming from inside the house!! If you think that you have a dead animal lurking under the floorboards or in the cavity wall then call pest control at your local council , they can put down a masking air freshener in the corners of your rooms and it will disguise the odour until decomposition has completed.

Air from outside and the pong don't know where could be in the lean to or kitchen. I'm going to have a look after trimming the hedges.

Going to take some pics and water all my irises. With excessive watering, there might be flowers yet! That's why I learned 3 years ago. I had an iris in a pot in the workshop and forgot all about it. When I found it, there was no sign of any flowers. I just watered it, and suddenly, a flower came up!

Cold and wet this morning, snowing in the mountains and we are suppose to get some of that today. Mountain lions must be hungry, they have been spotted along Fish Creek here in the city.

Took a few pics of my backyard yesterday, grass is green and leaves are on the trees.

Hi Upsy Daisy,
Bears, yes, mountain lions no. The cats are around but if they want to take you down they are going to spring at you from a hiding spot. Last time I dealt with a bear was several yrs ago. I was working with my brothers installing a furnace in a house just outside the city. A grizzly was exploring everything on the other side of the yard and we just kept working. Of course we checked where the bear was every time we made a trip outside to the trucks and vans.lol

Hi johnny,..
Golly gosh that was a close encounter :eek::eek: !
I've seen programmes about grizzlies getting so accustomed to humans that they now come into towns with growing confidence to rummage through household waste bins in the search for food!. Would scare me to death meeting up with one in my garden:eek:

@johnny canoe Looks like you have a bungalow. And the cladding is uPVC or wood? Very nice and looks so clean. I might have to replace mine. But I don't know which job to do first!

You can install a furnace? Crikey, such a handy man! Bears are reported to be very urbanised and will come to rummage in bins. Quite shocking to have mountain lions living around.. and grisly bears can be quite frightening.. At least, there are no snakes one of which swallowed a human leaving his shoes for identification..

Snow?? Hope you keep your beautiful flowers nicely wrapped up. Nice and neat garden, quite unlike mine.

I have removed all the nettles and weeds but didn't take any photos as I was too buy removing overhangs from neighbour's trees so that my borders can get a bit of rain. Very rare to be a dark blue band moving across this way. In fact, first time this year! When I was watching BBC weather report full screen, the screen went black every other second. Wish I had not stayed with this provider..
