By the time the rain comes here, it will have dissipated in energy and volume and we will have drizzle if we are lucky. 9/10 times we have nothing even though the map shows rain!
Gardeners' World - wasn't interested in grasses, but wish I hadn't sent away all my stipa gigantea grass seeds. Now I have none! And the recipient feigned not having received my appeal for sending me back some seeds. I reckon I must have sent her 50 by mistakes. Virtual friends for you - the other one wanted to send me 98p back as postage. People like these ruin my instinct to be generous and kind ..
Aw , that's a real shame @alp, you do something nice for someone and then they turn back and bite you on your bum ( not literally!!) . You know what to do in future, only sell/ exchange with people that you've had positive responses from in the past
Haha! I didn't expect that kind of language from you. Only from the skull!
I will inbox you. It's rained for 10 minutes. I went out and pulled most of the flower pots away from the wall. Of course, you guessed it, it has stopped raining!
@Logan Lovely aquilegias. Mine are dry and small because of the lack of water.
The white ones are gorgeous! None of my Nora Barlow has come into anything. A most frustrating year!
Worked from 9.30 to 12 and then 1 to 5 - sieving the compost again. Now I'm in a dilemma as the ground at the back of the garden is not level either!! I think I am going to clear everything and level it and using black plastic sheet to line the floor and put either grits or wood chips all round some raised bed and leave a place for a fire to cook or sit around when the going gets tough inside the house.
Love Aquilegia, mine all self seed too. I have made several attempts to sow seeds to introduce some new colours into our garden........but all have failed so far I will keep trying though
Guess what? I used to think growing aquilegias is easy peasy. They self seeded like mad. But this Nora Barlow really beat me hands down. Twice - all ended in tears!
As for my back garden, I had to tidy it up the easier way out.
@Logan, in your last picture, what are the tiny bright blue flowers on the bottom right? All of your flowers are pretty, but I love that bright blue color!!
