I am down to my final butt. It will be used within 3 days. I'm having headache looking at my plants. The bamboos are so thirsty and hydrangeas need a bit of water. Feel like tossing them out of pot into the ground, but I have no room. Such trauma not having enough water. Even Kent has a bit of rain. @Upsy Daisy I feel your pain.

What a perfect day for mowing the lawn - no dew, and not too hot. It's going to be a scorcher today and I need to water, water and water. The lounge is boiling already. Crazy English weather.

@Upsy Daisy Well, it is a scorcher in my lean to and that where I have FLOWN to! Alas, not much fun! Hot and stuffy. But it is sunny here in Essex. I have got some photos to prove

My geums - Mrs Bradshaw and a yellow ones, all bought reduced are very happy in the desert drought in Essex

See how happy my cistus is! All smothered with buds. If there were heat and rain, they would all be in bloom!

This is my Vivienne Pennell - doesn't look much but it has a double and single flowers in one plant. Sorry for the dirty fingers, not so nice as those of @johnny canoe 's!

This is a beautiful flower called Gillian Blades with serated petals. Looks like Miss Bateman but has more interesting features. But they are susceptible to bugs.

Good thanks.
Did the last couple of borders with help from hubs, staked some tall plants, sowed some more Sunflowers ,weeded both patios and gave them a good sweep, did a general removal of tatty looking leaves, tidied up the roses and will spray them tomorrow . Hubs trimmed one of our central small hedges ( after making sure that there weren't and nesting birds in it) and finally, deadheaded the pansies in the big containers....all in all an enjoyable day in the garden :)

Sounds like you've had a good day too(y)

Oh yes and found 2 nests , one with eggs in and one with a Thrush sitting on eggs( well we take that there were eggs ) , just looked up the eggs found in the first nest and we think that they could be Thrushes too, but not certain:)
