Good morning, Logan and all, It's really cold and I'm worried about my plants. Hope this cold spell is over. Must sow some more seeds. My geum, Mrs Bradshaw, is very happy despite how dry that spot is.

Anybody starting free seeds or seed swap thread? One for all - but might be a good idea to suggesting posting within own country only? Was thinking of suggesting one for the UK, and one for the USA, but I so wanted to include @Larisa, @Klona and others who extended warm welcomes to me when I literally stumbled on to this site! ;);)

Morning chatterboxes ;)
Sunny at 6 so I cut the lawns. Now the odd shower with hail in some areas and feeling cool. A cold day or two to come now I think....:( may have to fleece plants in pots later
Anyway, warmer again in a couple of days.
Have a good day everyone :)

Morning Logan, alp and all who drop in for a chat.

Hope you survived the cold night, a bit of a shock to the system :eek::eek:. Think we can expect a couple more this week before things start to warm up a bit:(.

Agree alp, it must be a bit stressful for the plants out in the garden as they have become accustom to the milder weather, hope buds, blooms and all emerging shoots have survived.....a bit scared to go and look:unsure::unsure:.

Not too sure if it would be wise to pot up my Cosmos today or wait a couple more days until this cold snap has passed........any thoughts on this will be gratefully received:D. Hopefully will finish off mulching the remaining couple of borders..........well that's the plan anyway;);)........but .....

Watched Garden Rescue on iPlayer last night, not bad. I wonder how good that self binding gravel stuff is, they didn't edge it ( I don't think ) and if it's got a wandering nature then it could look a bit messy.
My Dad knows Charlie, she use to live and work ( not too sure if she does now) just down the road from him. She is a lovely person , always greeted Dad with a big hug..............he has photos as proof:D:ROFLMAO::D:ROFLMAO:.

Right..off to unwrap the greenhouse and cold frame, this could take a while...you should see them:ROFLMAO::D:ROFLMAO:!!!

If you don't hear from me again then please come to assist as I've probably got tangled in yards ( oops metres!) of fleece:D.

Have a good day all...keep resting up Logan (y)

@Verdun Are you still very pleased with your new toy - the lawn-mower? See the title - latest toys (that's what I had in mind when I typed that! ;):D)

Yesterday, the first drops of rain were actually sleet, sadly, the subsequent drops were not enough to wet the ground.. I think it is colder than yesterday .. Can't wait for everything to warm up.. Have a good day to you too, Verdy!

Morning Upsy Daisy and Verdun. I've still got my plants wrapped up in GH, won't let them out until end of may. If they get out at all, with my bad knee.:( Using the crutches the right side of my chest muscles are really hurting a lot. Got a commode coming today, at around 12am. :)

Hi Logan. No I won't be taking them out of the greenhouse/ cold frame ...Just unraveling them from the fleece during daylight hours.

Yes , do mind yourself when using the crutches. My upper body hurt like hell........having Physio on my shoulder at the mo. Had a slight issue with it before my surgery but using crutches for 8 wks made matters alot worse:(

Commode , that's good(y)

Have a good day.....you can be our official TV programme scout... can't have you lounging around doing nothing can we ;):D;).
