Yes. I had to sleep in the living room. Thank heavens the lab window wasn't open throughout the night. So much to do. Good weather for your wallflowers. Rain is predicted here after 8pm. Nice to have a bit of rain at night.

@alp that's great. Years ago we had the gas boiler in the kitchen. I was painting in the kitchen, the boiler came on and i started cooking the dinner. So the electric cooker was on. I started to smell gas, called hubby at work. He worked 10mins away,he rushes home and had a smell around. Said that it was the combination of all the 3 things together. When the boiler had to be serviced, the man said it shouldn't be in the kitchen, so we moved it into the garage.

Nice to have a beach to clear your mind, @Verdun !

Neighbour has his boiler inside his bedroom. I found it so repulsive. We have it in the kitchen, but being new to the gas central heating, I didn't ask for a more powerful model. Now it takes ages for the shower water to heat up. You learn from your mistake.

The flue taking the gas is too short and so the air got blown back into the kitchen, together with those from the meth lab. I was lucky it was open last night. I need to extend it to take it to the roof line. More money to go.

Until we had a new boiler last year, the rads wouldn't come on, until the water was heated up. Now the flue is joined to the down pipe, just outside.

Hi guys!!
How is everyone, hope you are all well.

Finally managed a day in the garden as my sis has been admitted into hospital again, this time it's our local one so it's a lot easier this time. Hopefully she won't be in too long ,just a few complications to rectify.
Naturally the garden has had to take 2nd place to sis's needs and is looking a tad sorry for itself. Loads of deadheading ,cutting back and pulling out and chucking has taken place today. But despite all its neglect it still retains a surprising amount of autumn colour.....

I have had 4 blood red error alerts. The uploading took so long that I paused to feast my eyes on @Upsy Daisy blooming garden. I am stunned by the amount of bloom. Mine have more or less wound down and only the dahlias lift the mood a bit.

Greggii pastel purple. The colour is just pure joy!

For once, I can enjoy the colours and details of salvias on this site as both my cameras are useless. The iphone is good, but the images had tortuous journey coming down from the "clouds" ..

Hiya, @Upsy Daisy I have no more blooms and am so pleased that your garden is still in bloom. I must learn from @Verdun make a meter wide area for one kind of plants. Your garden is so nice and I am glad that you have a bit of respite. How are you keeping yourself? It's sooooo nice to hear from you!

@Upsy Daisy it's nice to hear from you and glad that your sis is slowly on the mend. Your garden looks good.
@alp lovely pics as always, their amazing.
It's been warm here today, planted some of the wallflowers and divided some polyanthus. Had to be careful not to dig the crocuses up that's inbetween.

I know what you mean. I always killed something when planting something new. I have now cut tons of labels from milk bottles and got some decent ones from reduction. I must label them clearly. I had to sieve through my sunny border to locate my snowdrops and could only found a few. I don't even know where my Leucojum Aestivum have gone. Now I have masses of oxeye daisies which might be sitting on top of them. I am so hopeless.

@alp we learn by the mistakes that we make. I replaced an old rose with a new one. Replaced all the soil with new. Other plants have grown up around it,so it hasn't grown very well. I've got another place to put it, but have to dig up some of the grass.

I cleared the back and then put some raised beds on them. But the rising sun does not reach that area and setting sun bakes the area. In the end, I have Wong Pak which bolted, no ripe tomatoes, and puny sweetcorns. Now, I was told to clear the area and buried the unwanted rubble.. I just want to cry.. Funny thing was that the irises were doing very well, but I had to dig them up and planted them yet again. I'm totally clueless!
