@johnny canoe so the red ones are called Santa Cruz and the orange ones probably Glowing ambers.. I love them all the same.. I know new buildings are without any character. Here they are tiny matchboxes.. Very uninspiring.. Lucky if you can get a house. Mostly are flats .. I will chance my luck this year.. Too early in season for bargain hunters like me...

@Logan: Back home dogs gnawed bones. Here I got told off for chucking a bone to a dog!

Some flowers

Some flowers can never be captured properly and primula is one of those.. Always look tatty!

Love the golden edges around the petal.. This pot of flowers have been flowering for month ... Never have I been so in love with the common pansies.. Big, bold and beautiful!

Love the red edges framing the petals.. Tiny details which tug at my heart's string!

Alp, lovely pics. These days, dogs can't have bones. Pieces can stick in their stomachs. When we had Berry, he was on a raw food diet. There were ground up bone in it. Took him to the vets for his booster, she was against the ground up bone.

Evening all, lots of great pics :).

Alp, I use a china pencil and it can be washed off ( with a little effort ).

My Mum was a brilliant gardener and my Dad followed her instructions, he was her under gardener :D:D.
He still ' potters' and does his best to maintain the garden to how Mum had it. but it's a big garden and since she died 11 yrs ago he has thankfully hired a gardener to help keep it under control. Not sure if I'll still be 'pottering' at 92!!!.......hope so:).

Sowed Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy......and I also found another pkt and couldn't resist sowing that too:D, so Rudbeckia Marmalade joined in a 'tray share :), Also sowed some Salpiglossis and Night Scented Stock.

Might have another go sowing some Cleome as only one has germinated....again! Same happened last year too, :(. not sure where I go wrong on my first attempts!

Depending where you are, sleep well or have a good day.

Good evening, @Upsy Daisy was on the point of going to bed..Just caught sight of your post.. 92! Can he walk unaided? Love Salpiglossis, especially the painted tongue.. so beautiful.. But the seeds that I bought look quite different from those I had before.. If I can find them, I will plant some as well.

If I can walk, I will potter whatever my age. But I'm very conscious of my limitation. The knee consultant touched my left knee and I screeched, he said that one was going as well.. So now, I am a good girl, taking all three neproxens a day..

My echinacea pallida seedlings have all died because the compost was too dry..:cry::cry::cry:! Cry me a river!

Sleep well, everybody!

Good morning to everybody and hopefully granma will grace my thread as well or better still will have a thread of her own..

Wednesday morning is clean and cold.. Thank heavens... No need to turn on the heating as it is OK coolish ...

@Upsy Daisy I'm happy that your dad is still mobile.. Last thing you want is being confined to bed and wearing nappies .. which is a stark reality for quite a few.. Hope he lives near you..

Good morning to all!
What a lovely bright and sunny one it is too :)too.

No heating needed here either alp....... Summer is getting nearer and nearer(y).

Luckily my Dad lives just 5 mins away so that is really lovely as I get to see him alot:).

What is everyone up to today? Do you think It's too late for Sweet Peas, I sowed some the other day but forgot to soak them, so they are not going to show themselves I expect. Still haven't done Night and Day yet........too late do you think?

Enjoy your day x

Good morning @Upsy Daisy Yes, what a glorious day .... Such a lot of difference. I was frozen last night. Hehe!

Nice to see how close you and your dad are!

I am going to sow more seeds, especially petunias... Wish I had bought some companion plants such as verbena for the baskets. Got 4 wired one for free.. Very tatty though.. Once the sun is up, nothing is late.. I planted some given to me, but only 3 survive .. I wish to show the flowers to someone when they flower...

What does the packet instruction say, Daisy? If the seeds are big like sweet peas, it might be a good idea to grow them in moist serviette as if it is warm, the seeds should sprout in no time.. Logan might be a better person to tell you about Night and Day..

I'm going to move all the plants from the arid areas to somewhere cooler... I was nearly crippled watering the plants yesterday.. Some were on the edge of death...:eek:
