delightful distinctive divine dahlias!

Hope you branch out, @mg guy ! Must say love that foliage you have in pots.. But you can't beat dinner plate dahlias. Some men deterred his wife from buying any, saying that to stake them is so unnatural.. I would use a barge pole to stick mine as long as they are big and cheerful.

But nearly time to pull them up and put the wallflowers in.
So I could pull them and do likewise...that would be good ..how long do the wall flowers last thereafter..
Well its raining again nuthin new there lol...and nearly work time again...wishing my life away to the weekends where I can get outside...because the daylight time seems to be getting shorter.
I was out on a delivery yesterday and spotted some large leaf weed looking plant in an ovegrown part of a pathway near some farming land in the country so I may stop by at the weekend and cut some for the waterfall, they are almost as large as the rhubarb I got of a stranger and as I dont want to go back and ask for more from the kind lady I'm hoping these will suffice (if the veining is good)...I hope you all have a great day..Happy Gardening.
OH there was a great program on last night on Channel 4 @alp, @Logan called All Gardens Great and Small..If you missed it watch this and other episodes on catchup...Miranda Hart (Call the Midwife) was in this one alongside a novel garden open day circa 16 gardens in one village open their doors..It was a very good programme..great format.

I going to get me this one @alp http://www.rhsplants.co.uk//plants/_/dahlia-tsuki-yori-no-shisha/classid.2000025526/ :)

@BigC Get it in Wilko. Do you have Wilko? £1 and you get to feel the tubers and see what state they are in. I went through all the packets and of course, it was always the last one which was the plumpest and biggest. Another place you can look at is Peter Nyssen - don't buy anything yet, find out the postage and ask them for a magazine and you can go through them. They only charge £1.70 last year for each tuber i.e. 2 of yours. Wilko have a lovely range. But I am not sure if you have a Wilko there. I bought my Teesbrooke Audrey and Night butterfly from them. Or go to B&Q to get some reduced stuff. Buy them and keep them indoors all through the winter. I have had wonderful flowers from both Homebase and B&Q gc and the prices are very good when reduced. Astilbes can be chopped into 5 pots and lobelia more than 6.. Now is the time to feast your eyes on the big pot reduced flowers.

@BigC yes you can pull up marigolds,if they've finished. The wallflowers that i use is a biennial. Put them in about now, they'll flower in spring and then pull them up. Start all over again.haha. Yes i knew about that programme thanks.

Good morning from a damp but warm Cornwall. :)
Already brightening up though and a pleasant and dry day expected.
My wallflowers will remain in the veg patch for a few weeks yet.....they make very large plants in the rich soil there...and then I move to their final positions :)

Would love to see your garden, @Verdun !

Chopped off a lot of big leaves from the squash and used the lawn mower for an hour to chop the twigs and mow the lawn at the same time. It was so humid that my forehead was dripping and I was so hot that I had to use the fan. The day after tomorrow I will finish the job and use the aerator to remove the moss and junk from the lawn.

Ground the egg shells from up the road cafe. Will feed the worms and add coffee to the wormery and blueberry.

Behind the second Kingfisher pic is a pot of Crocosmia (I think) this flowers very late for me where as everyone else seems to have these out for quite a while now... can anyone detect from its foliage that it is a Crocsmia ..Thank you for your replies.
