Good morning ... a very pleasant morning, ground wet and yet rained must have stopped long time ago as there is no more new water to the butts. Going to sort out the lean to and move furniture to it today.

@BigC glad that you're not painting as I think you work too hard ... @Verdun is right, natural is good, but the colour of bamboo might not fit in the frame. With the passage of time, it will age nicely .. Lady Tamiko will form a nice focal point ..

Some more pics from Sheffield Park and Garden which is not in Sheffield. Someone has been very naughty to confuse people.

Sheffield Park is full of acer palmatums and various old trees. Here this estate is not open to the public as they are people's homes, but it forms a wonder Gothic focal point to the whole park.

It's like a fairy land, castle as a backdrop.

One of the old trees which is a playground i.e. a slide for kids.

When I first visited Sheffield Park and Garden and the car pulled up the car park, I said to myself, "Pull another one, how can there be lakes in this part of the world? It's literally the top of the hill!" How wrong was I, we walked down and only after 3 visits have I walked round most of the lakes as one was fenced off.

See how trees with various alluring shapes frame the lakes

Especially love this bending willow or conifer! How it adds appeal to the water. I'm sure there was a modern Capability Brown telling his colleagues from a distance where to put these shapely and fantastic trees..

Good Morning Everyone...Here comes the rain again....Damp and dismal but somehow humid.
Thats about how you'd describe this weather pattern from my perspective.
Hopefully I will get the bamboo backing finished this evening (weather permitting) and that's her practically finished for bar some aesthetics such as lighting and planting.

Hahaha Interesting point @alp..working too hard...
Plants
I am open to a few suggestions as to planting for over the structure..I have Wisteria at my disposal but it may not get enough sunshine...I also have Parthenocissus henryana but was looking to have something more flowering...Climatis would also be nice but again not sure of the lumen factor...anyone got any particular favourites for a semi shaded area (climber)
Regards
C

Wisteria can cripple your pergola .. I would say only train it around concrete posts. But that's my opinion only.

Google climbers + semi shade and pick whatever you fancy .. Now, you have one more item in your busy-bee head!:D

Wisteria can get very heavy and vigorous.....better for a big wall BigC
How about a honeysuckle? I have a couple over an archway and the scent is wonderful :)

I have repotted about 20 yellow tiny Tanz echinaceas. And now I have to repot some hibiscuses.. Son is trying to cut an open rectangle on a worktop without a router.. Had to google to find out how.

@alp lovely dahlias especially the pom poms.
Haven't had any flowers on my chilli plants, hubby says it's the cucumber plants in front of them, taking all the light. He's cutting all the dead cucumber leaves off, to see if that will help.

Thank you to all. @Verdun want to see some of yours ...

@Logan Yes, light and heat .. Can't go wrong with chillies. Do you have a set menu for your dinner every week, @Logan ?
