@BigC I have a huge one which is thermostatically controlled. I haven't used it for quite a while. Too hot in Essex. I hope you can get as many chillis as you want.

Dracula - actually quite a nice flower, doesn't deserve such an awful name.

Thank you, @Logan Wish I could start sowing seeds the way you have done. Everything's on hold. Hope you're 100% mobile soon.

A growing obsession (plus seeds not pictured)..the aim is seed collection & sauces with the odd bit of FUN thrown in.....will it happen? who knows but that's the plan for now..Propagating the Carolina Reaper seed will be a labour of love in the immediate future...Hopefully I can bring this through...I still have a few plants on my collection list most are of the cooler varieties....so cheap at the garden centres at the moment so hey why not!

Morning Everyone....working late on the toybox last night well into the wee small hours....
The little propagator seems to be working well, its base is warm and its plastic isn't so clear anymore with its light coating of condensation..:) I'm hoping for great things form this.
Thinking ahead for the next week we will be preparing for our holiday into Wales and then up to Yorkshire...I'll be planning a few garden centre hits along the way, cant wait....The only thing that worries me is Plant Watering whilst I'm away...I have 2 sons still living at home and lets just say their fingers wouldn't be the greenest...So here I am with the dilemma of trusting them via cellphone to execute the task or link the hose up to the outside tap on an Auto Timing device hmmmmm pondering.......In the meantime have a great day folks (n)

@BigC that's the trouble when you have to go away for a few weeks or more. We never go on holiday, because of the dogs/boys. We wouldn't put them in Kennels or let anyone else. Then there's the fruit picking i have to do.

@BigC Make sure you go to Beningborough Hall in Yorkshire. Better still, join the National Trust. Fountain Abbey is also good. Wales, Bodnant Garden is a must, Chirk castle has a lovely garden overlooking the sea. In Wakefield, Nostell Priory is brilliant.

Whatever you do, don't miss Beningborough Hall..

@BigC Please catch up with Gardeners' World about chilli growing in West Dean garden.. You will be thrilled.

Morning to one and all, how are things ?

Agree with @Logan.... holidays are a problem, thankfully we aren't that keen on staying away from home, so not a cause for concern for us.
The last summer break we had a couple of years ago , we moved all potted plants into a protected shaded area and gave them a good soaking just before we left. Also gave selected ones growing in the borders a good drink too. Please to report that they all survived!

Tend not to grow things in the greenhouse in the summer as ours is in full sun for most of the day, and it would be too much like hard work trying to keep things alive!!. I imagine it would be a problem there during a holiday....not sure what to advise .

Have a Stress-free Sunday everyone:)

Haha was thinking of joining the National Trust last year at one of our local stately homes when they hosted a Game of Thrones Mini Fest....but it was a tad expensive for over here and I might not get to make full use of the contribution...We lived in Yorkshire for a great many years and my wife is Yorkshire born and bred so we know all the gardens and tourist spots up Nort :) as for Wales well thats a different story, we've never been so it will be a new venture..I think I'll just leave the lads to perform the task....setting the hose up may well play into the dogs hands or paws hahaha...and he may well decide to view its unrolled state as a new toy....so its crossed fingers for a couple of weeks I'm afraid.....A little collage from the garden to lighten the mood :)
