Good morning, @Logan and whoever drops by

No more water in the butts for me. The external water tap is too narrow and the fitting of the hose is too big. A bit of a nightmare. The air is already hot ..

Morning @alp yes it's warming up here. Have you got a watering can? I can't carry one, so i use 2,4pt milk containers. I always water like that, never use a hose. Last evening i started watering at 7.30. Took me an hour, although i can get around a bit better.

@Logan You're not serious! Milk carton takes a long time. I have a lot of plants and I used about 10 rounds of 1 gallon of water. We have been very hot here and I have too many pots. Have to repeat that tomorrow. No more butt water left now.

Morning all, phew!.... another hot day in store. There's no pleasing us is there!

@alp do you have to water everyday? Is it because you have a lot of pots?

In this very hot weather we water our pots every other evening, and the soft fruits gets a whole watering can full of water a couple of times per week. The only time I tend to water daily is when new plants are establishing themselves in the borders.

I could be wrong ( more than likely:D) but I was always led to believe that if you water too frequently then the roots stay nearer the surface instead of going downwards in search of water.....and this causes the need for daily watering.....just a thought:)

Have a really super holiday @alp , enjoy the time with your son:)

Have a Sun Screen Sploshing Sunday everyone:)

Happy Holidays @alp and son!!

@Upsy Daisy Sleep any better? Yes, I want to move with them. In the end, I had to plant some plants out as leaving them in the pot was not such a good idea. This morning, the air burns my throat. Such potency.. Let's not go there.

I agree with you, I poke my finger well down into pots, if it's damp down there, I don't water. You're right about the roots.

@alp yes I'm serious. With this weather i would water pots every day. It's when their in the ground when it's best to give them a good soaking. Then leave them, :)i don't water much of the plants in the ground only the pots. Plants do dry out more in pots. I thought i lost my snapdragons i forgot to water them but they've picked up. I do have some more plants as a backup.

Went out to KFC and the air was foul in the place that we ate them in the nearest park. It was lovely, with a bit of a breeze and had to come home quickly because the plants are very very dry. Had a bit of tummy ache and now the alien has taken over my living room with stuff from my son .. Not a calming day. Nice to have him back.. Gave him 2 kisses in the park..
