@Zenj In hot Essex, especially my house, there are very few spaces I can call shady. The heat is rather serious. I was so thrilled that I actually got the Trollius flowering. As my garage has not been built on, the west setting sun shines on my border and heats up the whole garden.. When the temperature hits 26, the air is so hot that even cuttings might not stand a chance. So you see, there are trade offs. Bet you must be cold and raining. Today we have been cold and cloudy. I am keeping my finger crossed that the meconopsis that I bought will flower.. I keep watering them and keep the area moist. Lovely meconopsis. Yellow is so different. Did you see the silky red one in Chelsea Flower Show.. Bett Chatto said she gave up trying meconopsis as Essex is just too hot for them. You see how lucky you are. The only things that thrive here are irises and cistus..

@Upsy Daisy Love your dahlia - bright and cheerful. What is the 2nd flower and the last one is? Your lilies are doing sooooooo well.. I feel so amateurish.

@Zenj I think I will try germinating the seeds on the same patch as the Trollius .. I must try some and leave some in the packet. That way, I won't kill them all. One out of 9 .. amazing glad that you have one and it a cracking exotic flower!

@alp , I told I'm hopeless at names...no Idea what the 2nd one is , have in a mauve/pink too, very dainty looking. The last one is a hardy perennial too, Oenothera 'Sunset Boulevard, suppose to flower Aug-Sept but for some reason that one is in full bloom now the others are nowhere near to flowering.....strange:)

Nice perennial to have. It's really cold here.

Short hair won't help! :eek:
Same here. I have the ebac on and window shut an hour ago. A false suede jacket, a thick fleece jacket and a blanket and on top a hot cup of water. I feel sorry for the plants I planted out this evening.

Wow! You must have a strong bladder. If I drink a cuppa now, I will be thinking about the toilet the whole night... No laughing matter! Nite, nite. Been watching a sick series called Handmaid's tale - tons of maids encouraging a woman to give birth .. I wish I had 3 when I gave birth. My son didn't cry and my husband was helping. He said his head was so squashed by the forceps that it went funny in shape and he didn't cry. A helper told the main nurse, "Alison, I'm not going to help you next time.. " Then I woke up and it was 1am.. To this date, I still don't understand why the hospital induced people in the evening when they were knackered.

One of mine was induced too....not fun at all:(

I'll more than likely have one more cuppa before I go up to bed, I normally go up about 11:30 / 12

Sleep well @alp :sleep::sleep:

I had a bit of trouble with my bladder when i was in my early 30s. Have to drink a lot of water or anything. Had urethral stenosis, the urether narrowed and thikenened from having a lot of infections and muscle spasms and the bladder was weekened from being pregnant.

Oh, dear! @Logan get it check out!

Good morning to a hung parliament. More chaos. I still won't blame May for calling the election. What annoys me is those who believe Corbyn's promises of free for all policies.

Went out with a bag and killed a lot of snails and slugs. Thank heavens the plants I planted yesterday are mostly intact. There was quite a bit of slime on my rudbeckias. I so want to see my alstros to flower this year. Bet I am too optimistic. By the look of it, there was a bit of rain last night. Sooo pleased for that.
